For the past 9 months, I've been investigating Andrew Tate's empire of sexual exploitation — drawing on thousands of private messages and sealed court files, as well as interviews with the Tates, their associates & more than a dozen alleged victims. Here's what I found: https://t.co/q1L65EVG1O
@bariweiss@TrevorPTweets@CBSNews@bariweiss you mean a columnist? How can a correspondent be someone who worked as an opinion writer and headed political commissions? I thought your goal was to report the news objectively?
I don't understand how @bariweiss could expect any journalist at CBS News to trust her. She worked at the @WSJ until she left because she said the Trump supporters wouldn't let her write what she wanted. She left the @nytimes because she said people there were mean to her because she was a conservative. She then started a company whose pitch to readers is that they are the superhero standing up against the villainous legacy media. And now she takes a job leading a legacy media organization and expects its audience and staff to like and trust her? CBS News's demise was inevitable when Weiss took over.
NEW: Bari Weiss just addressed the termination of Scott Pelley on the network's morning call just now.
Weiss: "I know I speak for myself, and I hope I speak for everyone here when I say that I'm only interested in working in a newsroom that is built on trust and mutual respect. We cannot do our work without it. That foundation was broken on Monday, and despite our attempts to engage with Scott Pelley and to find a way back, unfortunately we weren't able to do so, and so we had to part ways.
We did not want that to happen, but that's the path that he chose. That unfortunate outcome does not discount from the amazing contributions and work that Scott Pelley has done for CBS and for 60 Minutes over the course of his career."
She then listed some of his stories from the past season and called them "unforgettable stories."
@bariweiss built her whole persona around being a martyr who took a brave stand against legacy media. Then she started a publication whose shtick is that it’s fighting back against the dishonest legacy media. Then she takes over a legacy media company and — shocker — its staff and audience don’t like or trust her.
@jprutherford It seems like Holloway wasn’t fully recovered at the start of the year and then got injured again. Given how much he contributed to our success last year, I think it’s fair to ask if we would be in playoff contention if he had been healthy this year.
Trump: "See that nice drape? When that comes down right now you see a very very deep hole, but in about a year and half you're gonna see a very very beautiful building. And there's your entrance to it right there. In fact, it looks so nice I think I'll leave it and save money on the doors. I picked those drapes. I always liked gold. I believe it will be the most beautiful ballroom anywhere in the world."
