I endured years when there were no salary increases because of economic conditions. I do this because I enjoy it. Promotion is a reward.

Only college grad in immediate family although my mother would have loved to go to college but it was the Depression and her younger brother was able to go to college without paying tuition.

I agree that informal writing is essential andI always mix statistical, theoretical, and historical analysis with stories designed to get readers interested. Better than spending $6k for this course is getting a copy of Zinnser, On Writing Well, and learning from it.
