https://t.co/11kuzhxryS Great piece by Dr. @LukoyeAtwoli @nhifkenya MUST STRIVE to achieve Universal Health Coverage. It should not end with @UKenyatta 2nd term (because we won't have achieved it anyway!) but should be a continuing program improving on gains made each year.
BREAKING: We can confirm that Wicknell Chivayo's company, IMC Construction Kenya, is part of the consortium behind the planned expansion of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
According to reports by Zimbabwe Live News, IMC Construction Kenya is a joint-venture partner alongside CCCC (China Communications Construction Company) and CRBC (China Road and Bridge Corporation) in the proposed $2.9 billion JKIA expansion project.
This is the same Wicknell Chivayo whose name has repeatedly featured in corruption allegations and controversies surrounding public contracts across Southern Africa.
What's even more interesting is that this deal was reportedly reached last year. Around the same period, Chivayo shared a video hinting that he had landed a major regional deal. Many people did not know what he was referring to at the time.
If these reports are accurate, then Kenya may have jumped from the frying pan straight into the fire.
Kenyans should be asking some very basic questions:
Who brought him into the deal?
Who conducted the due diligence?
Who approved the consortium?
And why do controversial figures keep finding their way into strategic national projects?
I keep saying this country is being messed up in all the wrong ways.
WHY THE ECONOMY WILL BE RUTO'S WATERLOO
Ruto's main competition in the next general election will be the economy, not the opposition. His sustained focus on the opposition is a grave miscalculation.
The lesson he will learn; you can't politic yourself out an economic crisis π§΅
@Dannkasina@sholard_mancity Your explanation was spot on, @sholard_mancity . In cases of highly venomous snake bites, once may require high and repeat doses of anti snake venom, up to 20 or more, depending on severity of symptoms and systemic effects.
@Paul_Muite@Mansoor69137984 Please maintain the pressure...especially now that a new THIKA EXPRESSWAY is set to be launched by September 2026!! And where's the budget, now that the commencement date is already set?
Hii hasira yote ni ya nini? π
Isnβt it them who are dishing out money in Oburu rallies? Something we have seen with our own eyes?
Did they see any money being dished out in Busia or Kitengela? Or where is this Uhuru money they keep talking about being given out? Si watutolee evidence.
Kakamega is happening, wapende wasipende!
Senator Edwin Sifuna has just addressed the media and exposed why the Nairobi-National Govt deal pushed by Gov. Sakaja should worry every Kenyan.
He says public participation is being done after the fact, not before, as per the constitution, and also 14 days is far too short for a decision of this magnitude.
He warns that the deal is meant to create an audit nightmare. If the Auditor-General investigates, who will be accountable, the County or the National Govt? Documents could be scattered across offices, making oversight almost impossible.
The committee running this arrangement is dominated by National Govt officials (2/3). In practice, Nairobi risks losing control of its own affairs, with Sakaja now answering to Mudavadi. A takeover of Nairobi County
Sifuna says there were better solutions:
- Release all money owed to Nairobi County by govt institutions
- Transfer devolved functions as previously agreed with Baba
- Ensure Treasury releases county funds on time (by the 15th, as the law requires)
He noted the irony: State House reportedly received six monthsβ funding in one month while counties are starved.
His message to President William Ruto was blunt: stop the hypocrisy and respect devolution.
This is bigger than politics. If Nairobi falls, every county should pay attention.
