@Mike_Ferrin Hey Mike, the angels have owned their own radio station for several years now and they don't travel their radio announcers. now that they own their own television channel, does that mean they won't be traveling their TV analyst as well? 🤣🤣🤣

[Tom Varghese Jr. MD, MS, MBA, FACS, MAMSE 🇺🇸 @TomVargheseJr]

Just learned about the passing of Dr. John Benfield, Professor Emeritus @UCLASurgery .

Many tributes will be forthcoming from our major surgical organizations. Dr. Benfield was a leader extraordinaire, whose passion for Thoracic Surgery was exceeded only by his track record of mentorship.

He held major leadership positions in:
@ABTS17
@TSDA_CTsurgery
@WTSA_Surgery
@STS_CTsurgery
@annalsthorsurg
@ThoracicSurgFnd
@AmCollSurgeons

He also endowed The John and Joyce Benfield Lecture, an annual event at his alma mater @uchicagosurgery (I had the honor of delivering the Benfield lecture in September 2022).

From the Fall 2016 article in ‘Medicine on the Midway’:

“Nothing has approached the extraordinary privilege of teaching young people to be good doctors. I am humbled by the success of the students and residents I have mentored.”
- John R. Benfield MD

May his memory continue to inspire us through the ages. 🙏🏾 #RIP
