@CDHenry_PA On the contrary, it may mean the US has another century of Pax Americana. I'm an absolute maniac when it comes to demographic numbers and I personally believe this probably secures Anerican dominance until maybe the 2120's. At that point, who knows.
A map of the peak birth years of each country and their decline since then. Produced with Wikipedia articles, a calculator, and a lot of autism.
We live well into the age of demographic decline.

@MoreBirths@BirthGauge@Smirkley@lymanstoneky@SimoneHCollins Some observations:
- You can see Latin America, the Arab World, and India having worse contractions than the Anglo countries.
- The Anglophone countries are far more immune than you'd expect.
- Even Africa is showing cracks. Not even Africa is immune.
One way of measuring the severity of a country's birth rate crisis is how far from peak births it has fallen.
The US has 84% of the births it had at its peak. France has 60% of its peak births. Italy is at just 30% of its peak.
And China has only 24% of the births it once had.
@PlisskenPatriot I was watching the results with my Discord server with a tab open on a liberal server having a laugh at them having an unironic mental breakdown.
@The_Davos_Man It's an outgrowth of the fact that liberals tend to be materialists and then the belief that liberalism was a "rational" rather than a contingent ideology. Liberals have a hard time exiting their frame and that the transcendent really is transcendent.
@BarSebNat@The_Davos_Man Billy Graham was already deviating from the contemplative style by the 1950's. America's religious fervor energy came from the Great Awakenings and revivalist energy IIRC, while I'm sure African Americans played a part of it it's not why the whole thing is the way it is today.
@MGecko117 My own sci fi timeline has the future be as deeply as enchanted as the past, and humans never stopped being mythmakers. It's closer to a space opera in space, but with updated logistics and a plausible explanation of why this is the future.
The galaxy in the year 3400 AD. The Great Abundance Collapse nearly destroyed us all.
Purpose is paramount,
Decadence is Poison,
There is faith.
There is struggle.
There is endless becoming.
This is the age of the Human Diaspora;
Vast, vivid, and alive.
In the radiant dawn of the 3rd Millennium, we chose voluntary scarcity, and carved the stars into the Human Diaspora.
