Do you realise how outrageous this actually is?
Imagine 38-year-old Ronaldinho dominating Russia 2018.
Imagine 38-year-old Xavi controlling every midfield at Russia 2018.
Imagine 38-year-old Iniesta and 38-year-old Robben outplaying the world in Qatar 2022.
Imagine 37-year-old Rooney dragging England through Qatar 2022.
Imagine 37-year-old R9 and 37-year-old Totti ruling Brazil 2014.
Imagine 38-year-old Zidane and 37-year-old Figo owning South Africa 2010.
Every one of those scenarios sounds completely impossible.
Lionel Messi did the real version.
At 39, he entered the 2026 World Cup and went toe-to-toe with Mbappé, Haaland, Yamal, Bellingham and an entire generation raised watching his highlights.
Players 12, 14, even 20 years younger than him.
He scored 8 goals, provided 4 assists and carried Argentina into another World Cup final.
This isn’t longevity anymore.
This is football producing generation after generation of superstars—and none of them being able to make Lionel Messi look ordinary.
The greatest there was.
The greatest there is.
The greatest there ever will be. 🇦🇷🐐🙏
Thank you for everything Lionel Andres Messi Cuccitini 🐐🇦🇷❤️
4th place at Supernova 2025 !! I wanted to keep playing but I think I did really well considering I got upset early in bracket
This tournament meant a lot to me because for a long time I was convinced this was gonna be my last tournament, but right now I'm not too sure what the future is looking like. I've been feeling motivated to improve and to keep having exciting matches, but at the same time I really feel like I need a long break and try new things, at the end of the day I've been doing this for almost 10 years.
I'm gonna go to Thunderdome in Spain at the end of this month, but after that I'm looking to take a long break after who knows when, so this means no collision, no riptide and most likely no port for me.
I don’t wanna put a label like hiatus or anything like that because I really don’t know what the future is looking like, maybe I'll change my mind or maybe not, who knows. But I promise I'll come back eventually and be stronger than ever. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout all this years 🫶
My run ends at 33rd losing to riddles and leo. I was very motivated for this tournament in specific so I'm sad I wasn’t able to exceed mine and everyone's expectations. But at the same time I'm happy everything I've gone through led to me being part of a tournament of such caliber, while also being the favorite to win 🥹
Regarding my future with smash, I honestly don’t know what’s next. I've been reflecting a lot these last months and still don’t got an answer I’m comfortable with. Wish I could say more but I'm gonna wait some time more in case anything changes.
Always a pleasure to compete and interact with the japanese scene, thank you for your support everyone 🫶
Considering my recent performances I think 5th at a P tier is fairly decent. Nothing much to say, I will try my absolute best at kagaribi next weekend
Ggs to Doramigi and Light!
