Social media hyperbole in discussion of things has ruined the enjoyment of so many actually really good games.
So many "This game changed my life, 20/10" posts are just doing too much, to the point that that the game ending up as a "pretty great" 9/10 seems awful by comparison.
@lmx1806 @Zula_la_Chula This is how I've always felt about it. Everyone is nice to the point of never calling anyone out for being weird and toxic, then the "good guys" come in and "hold people accountable" by harrassing and wishing death on them, but it's fine because they're doing it to "the bad guys"
@rubynesoberi It's very "look at me owning this guy lololol", and there will be people that get the game because of "oh shit they owned this guy I disagree with lololol".
The whole ableism debate in games just reads as white savior shit for able-bodied people. Disabled people can game.
@bradley65816@linaposting He absolutely doesn't write a his scripts, but he does always credit the writer of the script within his team and has dealt well with ans apologised for plagiarism by the writers the one time I remember it happening.
I hope and pray that my life, with all its difficulties, never gets to the point where I have a genuine emotional reliance on a LLM to the point where I'm begging the makers publically not to deprecate it. At some point you have to admit a problem...
@RaphDeee@JonDArsen We've now reached the point of having "AI derangement syndrome"-derangement syndrome... People jumping at shadows on both sides around here
All I see right now;:
"Larian made people lose their jobs."
"They didn't."
"They did. Because AI takes people's jobs."
*Shows that they did not actually replace anyone for AI*
"But they did because AI takes people's jobs."
Literally just hear buzzword > recite flowchart argument
@AzeliaVelana @LuLuTheGoth I don't think the story is bad, just I don't really care about it compared to the gameplay which I love, and I don't think that's a "wrong" way to play the game if we all still enjoy ourselves plenty. Unfortunately, I've said that in-game and had the wrath of god fall on me ๐
@HLMacfarlane Loneliness is a hell of a thing, but I hope that you can slowly regain that feeling of connection with others, and yourself ofc. Random words from a stranger ofc, but still! aha Head up, shoulders back, you're doing great to keep pushing ahead on your socials etc! It isn't easy..
@HLMacfarlane Or asking for others to take pictures of you and your people also. Slowly though, I think the ability to appreciate yourself as you are, regardless of those connections comes to the fore. No doubt they love you, but sadly self-love is so much longer a road. Not to assume ofc
