We made a control system for #BUBBLE! With a little CubeSat-reaction wheel from @JMUSpace, we're trying to stabilise and steer our balloon gondola in the stratosphere. Watch the full video now! https://t.co/MbSd4ZLPt5
PS: We promise it's not a spy balloon. π
It's launch day! The #BUBBLE team is in the workshop and our payload partner from the Institute of Photovoltaics (ipv) @Uni_Stuttgart is making final tweaks to the innovative perovskite solar cells they will test on this flight. Stay tuned for updates throughout the day!
It appears the BUBBLE 4 balloon did not burst, but started to lead at an altitude of approx 32 km. Sinking only slowly, it seems this will be a longer flight than expected!
Check out this great introductory video to balloon astronomy and what we are doing! (in Spanish, we really don't recommend the CC auto-translate...)
