Nichols frames this as vindication, and the receipts back him up completely. Vance diagnosed the mechanism in 2016 with more precision than most of his critics manage now. Trump offers an easy escape from real pain and never explains how any of it works because he can't. That was Vance's own language, published, on the record, a decade before he took the job of defending the exact thing he'd diagnosed.
The private version is worse than the public essay. He told a friend he wasn't sure if Trump was a Nixon-style opportunist or America's Hitler, and treated both as live possibilities worth debating rather than dismissing outright. Ambition answered the question for him before the country did.
Tucker Carlson, once as loyal as they come, told Trump to shut up ten days ago and said he doesn't take him seriously anymore. The people who built this coalition are starting to say in public what Vance already knew in private in 2016.
It totally makes sense that, after 2 weeks, the only crowd that showed up for trump in DC was a bunch of white Supremacist scumbags.
Because of course they did. 🤨
Trump's DOJ is locking up Americans for simply touching peeling paint in his failing $14M Reflecting Pool disaster.
But the January 6th insurrectionists who stormed our Capitol, attacked police, and tried to overthrow our democracy? They get a pass.
This isn’t justice.

Just a bunch of Republicans mimicking Trump to avoid getting reprimanded/fired/primaried.
But there’s a TON of pedophile evidence in the #EpsteinFiles
The fundamental choice has not been as stark since World War II: democracy and freedom, or dictatorship and tyranny.
Trump and his sycophants are siding with the latter. The rest of us must loudly, proudly, and boldly proclaim our allegiance to the former.
We need real reform in this country to put a check on the corruption and excesses we're seeing in the White House.
From reforming the Court, passing a new Voting Rights Act, anti-corruption, and anti-gerrymandering legislation in Congress — bold change must be on the table.
Trump is willing to fight to reverse Balogun's red card suspension but wants to strip Americans like him, born to immigrant parents on visas, of birthright citizenship.
It should now be obvious even to MAGA that Balogun is Team America.
🙄 Nobody believes this crap anymore. It’s all been a sham, especially after Anchorage. Trump and Putin are on the same side, against Ukraine and the free world, seeking personal advantages only, and that’s all they ever talk about.
One year ago this week, Republicans passed their Big Ugly Bill.
The results?
❌More than 5 MILLION have lost health insurance.
❌4 MILLION people — including 1 MILLION children — have been kicked off SNAP.
These weren't unintended consequences. They were the result of deliberate choices made by rubber-stamp Republicans.
Let me tell you a story. FDR stood in Madison Square Garden, faced a crowd battered by the Great Depression, and didn't sugarcoat a damn thing. "Our allegiance to American institutions requires the overthrow of this kind of power!" he said.
He wasn't pointing fingers at foreign threats, no, he was calling out the corporate overlords and fat-cat billionaires who'd gotten rich bleeding workers dry.
He called them what they were: economic royalists. The crowd roared, not because it sounded good, but because they'd lived it. A class war had been waged on them for decades, and they were over it.
Fast forward to today, and nothing's changed except the wardrobe. The billionaires traded cigars for private jets, hired lawyers instead of Pinkertons, and swapped bank vaults for offshore tax havens.
The guy running the country turned the Oval Office into a crypto ATM, pulling in over $2 billion since his inauguration through memecoins and family crypto ventures, while over a million everyday investors lost billions on those same coins.
Yet, here they are debating whether starving wages are "too generous," while America's billionaires sit on $9.24 trillion combined. Meanwhile, the GOP wears MAGA caps instead of top hats, cutting Medicare while everyday Americans can't afford rent, groceries, and their credit cards sit maxed out. And Democrats?
Other than a handful of progressive Democrats, where are the rest?
Why aren't they holding daily press conferences, getting on every news channel, running town halls, and screaming about this corruption and affordability crisis 24/7?
FDR didn't win by playing nice, he called out the villains and went to war. We need leaders with that kind of grit.
Yes, they hoarded the money, but we have the power. If we don't buy their stuff, they go broke.
The billionaires started this fight long ago. Now it's our turn to fight back before it's too late. This November election all is on the line.
For most of us, seeing the Klan 2.0, a.k.a. Patriot Front, march through Washington, D.C., unchallenged by authorities overshadowed any celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
My ancestors lived through this. And no one today can say with a straight face that racism is behind us.
BASH: “You have pics of people cutting a 350 foot gash in the bottom of the reflecting pool?”
BURGUM: “I’m not sure why you and the media keep questioning it.” 😂
How adorable — @SecretaryBurgum 🤡 is still trying to sell us Trump’s lie that the Reflecting Pool was vandalized
#BREAKING: Sen Booker: “This [SCOTUS] is a CORRUPT court, and we know that because there’s a billionaire class—and my brother Senator Whitehouse points this out so much—there’s a billionaire class that circles around this, they lavish Supreme Court members with gifts, RVs, paying family tuitions, lavish vacations. In New Jersey, if a judge did that, they would be carried out in handcuffs, put in prison.” 😳
Todd Blanche is asking a federal court for up to sixty days before releasing more Epstein files, saying the delay protects victims. A Wall Street Journal review already found the department's own prior releases included at least 43 victims by full name, more than two dozen of whom were minors at the time of the abuse, some names repeated over a hundred times.
The material Blanche is actually fighting to keep redacted right now is different. Judge Emmet Sullivan's order covers eight email exchanges where the sender or recipient identity is blacked out, not the victims discussed in them. A DOJ spokesperson has since described the withheld names as victims who sadly became co-conspirators, which is the department's own explanation for why it won't release them.
Sullivan found that Blanche conceded the department is already in violation of the law Congress passed with bipartisan support and Trump signed last November. The deadline the judge set was today. The department missed its own filing deadline getting to this point.
