After surprising 7-year-old Detroit native Romell Frazier Jr. with a video call for his birthday last month, following a dog attack in which he lost both arms, Kendrick Lamar kept his promise to fly the child and his family to California to celebrate his birthday.
In a new video that began circulating last week (Aug. 27), Romell appears alongside Kendrick as they sang happy birthday with a cake.
K-Dot fan account Raven Birdie shared on X that Romell also received VIP experiences at Disneyland, Universal and Hollywood. "His mom said it’s a weekend they’ll never forget and such a special core memory for Romell," Raven tweeted.
Romell was attacked by two pit bulls in Detroit on March 19, and returned home in May after two months in the hospital. His injuries resulted in both of his arms being amputated, along with severe injuries to his leg and foot.
BREAKING: Duane "Keffe D" Davis has been found guilty of first-degree murder with use of a deadly weapon in connection with the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur, nearly 30 years after the rapper was fatally shot in Las Vegas.
Jurors deliberated for about 90 minutes before reaching the verdict.
Davis now faces a potential life sentence, with sentencing to be determined on Oct. 13.
Keffe D was arrested on Sept. 29, 2023, following a raid on his home that same year. Police charged him with murder with use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal street gang.
He was accused of obtaining the weapon that was used in Tupac's murder and was present during the Las Vegas shooting. The other three men believed to be present during the shooting have all died, including the alleged gunman, Keffe D's nephew Orlando Anderson, who was killed in 1998.
Police said the shooting was in retaliation for Anderson being jumped by Tupac and members of Death Row Records following a Mike Tyson fight on Sept. 7, 1996.
Opening statements in the trial kicked off on Aug. 17. Excerpts of Keffe D's 2019 book Compton Street Legend were referred to in the trial. The book includes Keffe discussing the events surrounding the 1996 shooting.
