Today is 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆, highlighting the need for better and more sustainable transplant systems.

These systems save lives but face challenges like workforce shortages and unequal access.

In April, we launched the 𝘌𝘚𝘖𝘛 𝘈𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢 𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, calling for robust, adaptable systems that deliver high-quality care.

Sustainable transplantation is vital for protecting patients, honouring donors, and ensuring the resilience of transplant systems for future generations.

💚 Cette année, la Journée nationale du don d’organes et de tissus donnera lieu à un évènement exceptionnel. À l’initiative du collectif Greffes + (qui réunit des associations, fédérations et fondations), le Pont d’Iéna, exceptionnellement privatisé, accueillera jusqu’à 1000 personnes pour former le plus grand ruban vert humain jamais réalisé.

🤝 Parce que derrière le ruban vert, symbole du don d’organes, il y a des milliers de patients en attente de greffe, une mobilisation collective est indispensable et la Société Francophone de Transplantation est fière de soutenir cet évènement.

📣 À nos côtés, la Tour Eiffel s’illuminera et les péniches sur la Seine feront résonner leurs sirènes, pour porter haut ce message d’espoir et d’engagement. Un moment fort pour :
- rendre hommage aux donneurs
- saluer les familles
- rappeler l’importance de faire connaître sa position à ses proches
- porter ensemble un message de solidarité et de vie

After sudden kidney failure, caused by IgA nephropathy, in 2013, a kidney transplant transformed his life. Sadly, after 12 years, that transplant is failing. Like many ethnic minority patients UK Adnan will likely face a longer wait.
