Starting!

Hear from people on the frontlines of organizing for liberation in Israel & Palestine. What they have to say is as important as how they say it.
Join us; lighting a candle is better than cursing the darkness.
In short -- the actual israeli left exists! They're thoughtful, they're kind, they're an arab-jewish partnership, and they have a perspective on things that is neither "bombings good" nor "murder is actually social justice". I've been following them for years.

I and a few folks have been setting up something that we think is timely, relevant, and frankly an important intervention in the discourse.

The people setting this up are very trustworthy, and it's such an important intervention. Please join if you're interested in hearing from the Israeli left on ways to end the occupation
Incredible news from Colombia with the election of a socialist president, who has shown the power of community organising to build a popular policy platform to heal the divisions of the past and bring about social justice.
Felicidades y solidaridad @petrogustavo! 🇨🇴
This is an incredibly important article for anyone interested in DSA's political evolution or left political strategy in the US.
It's by @elbaum_max who wrote Revolution in the Air and has spoken about his experiences often to DSA audiences.

I know there’s a lot going on today, and people are scared. It’s also #WorldAsthmaDay. We need #MedicareForAll that covers everything (including abortions)!
Healthcare shouldn’t discriminate on the basis of race, sex, gender, employment, etc. This is just one story among many
📈 Evictions are surging. New York tenants are facing a crisis of historic proportions.
Albany must pass #GoodCause NOW. It's what NY needs to grant every tenant protections against unjust evictions and unreasonable rent hikes.
The mass rally starts on Tuesday! ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
I think I understand. Portions of the left (and plenty of others!) have been saying "Ukraine shall be neutral and not in Nato" since before the invasion.
After the invasion.
And now, after Zelensky has openly stated that he is willing to accept these terms, it's fun to watch.
If you agree with this view, you are a consequentalist. Someone who justifies today's action with tomorrow's outcomes, even if unpredictable.
In contrast, I lean towards deontology. When it comes to principle, it's the action itself in that moment that gets the scrutiny.
“It’s going to affect so many women, the African American women, the low-income women. These people who need it the most are the ones who will be losing this.”

This is a worthwhile read. The important part IMO is #4: some people really thought they were doing the best thing for Palestinians, and these ppl have my respect. Others used this as a wedge issue to force DSA into a fight that does not have the support of our organization.
