I don't like 'armchair-quarterbacking' situations like that, it was fkn hairy.
I shot a man in the face in '08 when he got the drop on me and made the mistake of bending over to see if I was dead and I pulled out a hideout S&W revolver and ended the event.
The PA declined to press charges.
I had head injuries and had to go to the hospital before jail.
I didn't talk, his blood toxicology told the story.
His 'estate' clipped my insurance company for the max, $250k.
I just lost the gun[s].
It's doubtful you'd get away with that in today's lawless environment. I'm in a dem city with a black lesbian appointed mayor.
I only carry @byrnanation less lethal pepperball launchers and their BGR repellent now.
I'm old, but my training is righteous enough that I should be able to use a guy's gun against himself if I sting him enough for a few seconds.

I have a cute little propane torch like that for soldering copper pipes and ultrasonic drills , a portable oxy/acetylene rig, a MIG welder and a plasma cutter.
I sold my AC/DC arc welder, I needed room.
