@jeffwardshow it makes no sense that AISD is cutting all water polo programs and no other sports. Meet with the boosters to cover that $89k via co-funding and volunteers instead of saving $89k by killing off a whole sport. Heck a 0.5% cut to football could save it too.
@Simone_Biles THANK YOU for speaking out and standing up. I cannot believe the hate and vitriol people show you is despicable. As a coach, an athlete, and the parent of an athlete, I stand with you.
Jim Schlossnagle pulled me and two of my teammates into the outfield after we lost the Norman regional in 2006, made us write the date 6/4/06 in our hats, and wear them to remember what that day felt like. He turned the program over to us, entrusting us to bring out the best in every single one of our teammates.
Jim Schlossnagle has an intensity and a passion for the game that is unrivaled. The sacrifices he made for the programs he’s led speak for themselves. He lives for the game, period.
Schloss was a tough guy to play for… for certain types of player. The ones that didn’t take academics seriously. The ones that showed up late to workouts. The ones that missed meeting. The ones that didn’t bust their asses every single day. The ones that weren’t accountable to their teammates. The ones that were soft.
Things got heated between us a couple of times, and I’m grateful for those moments, because they only cemented just how fierce of a competitor he is. He pushed me to be the best.
Jim Schlossnagle demands excellence, he expects discipline, and knows how to turn boys into men. This is why he was chosen to run the premier program in all of college baseball.
He is human, makes mistakes like all of us, but when you put all the bullshit aside, he knows how to win baseball games. #winnerswin
In my other world as coach at UT... Very proud of her for leading the way in and out of the pool. I'm very lucky to coach a great group of women - and this one deserves all the accolades that come her way.
Dear electronics industry: @Sonos has figured out how to ship and package a product, attractively and well protected, with NO PLASTIC WRAP! It can be done.
While the #COP28 president's remarks have garnered most of the attention, there are far more pressing issues - like securing enough $$ for resilience via the loss and damage fund. #ClimateJustice https://t.co/JKUY6GjOgt
We need to figure out DAC, but yeah - 1000 tons/year is nowhere near the scale we need. I'm all for an "e) all of the above" approach to the #ClimateCrisis , but we need to get moving...
“Each and every one of us contributes to climate change – but some of us are going to need to do more to fix it.” - Tina Swanson, Ph.D. *Why is this?* Simply put, govt's and many businesses have not been meeting their commitments. Read the article here: https://t.co/eC10SRcbX7
Hey @ESPNCFB can't you find a single @OU_Athletics fan rooting >FOR< their team instead of denigrating @TexasFootball for Every. Single. Bump? You can do better...

This is absolutely bananas.
There is NOTHING like this on the instrumental record. Its likely impact is probably immeasurable.
But is it leading our news bulletins & on newspaper front pages?
Nope.
Happy #WorldGiraffeDay2023! Special thanks to our friends at @SITech_HS and the @StatenIslandZoo for all they do raise awareness about this animal we all know (and love) but may not know much about.
