There is something deeply unhealthy happening in our public discourse.

When people question government policy, they are called extremists.

When they raise concerns about immigration or social cohesion, they are called racists.

When they question public-health decisions or speak about vaccine injuries, they are called anti-vaxxers.

When they challenge the constitutional status quo or discuss Alberta’s future, they are called traitors.

These labels are rarely intended to encourage dialogue. They are used to end it.

But questioning government is not extremism.

Challenging existing laws is not lawlessness.

Discussing constitutional change is not disloyalty.

And disagreeing with government policy does not make someone dangerous.

In a healthy democracy, citizens are free to question authority, challenge prevailing ideas and advocate for change. That is not a threat to democracy. It is democracy.

The real danger is a political culture that silences legitimate concerns, punishes disagreement, disparages citizens and treats them as enemies simply because they refuse to conform.

We will not rebuild public trust by ignoring this reality. We will rebuild public trust by listening, answering difficult questions and addressing the substance of their concerns.

Dialogue does not weaken a country. Refusing to have it does.

BISS: “While all this was going on, I had been loosely monitoring my miscarriage rate in my private practice. And in November of 2021, my biller came to me and said that we had had eight miscarriages that month in a month when we had registered 20 new pregnant patients.”

On January 25, 2021, Fauci privately texted the Surgeon General and CDC Director that post-injection fevers “theoretically could be associated with MISCARRIAGE in the 1st trimester.”

A week later, he told the public there were “no red flags” for pregnant women.

I’m co-teaching a freshman seminar at a university this fall on Bias in Public Health Policy using COVID as a case study.

The students were in middle school at the time so they had little to no agency in terms of what happened to them.

Based on the discussions in the first class, it seems that most of them know that something was *off* and that they were negatively impacted by the policies, but they struggle to articulate what or why or how.

They do all seem to understand that 1.) they lived through an unprecedented event that changed the course of their lives, and 2.) what they were told in the moment was not necessarily evidence-based.

I’m noticing a growing trend toward what might be described as a “Satanocentric” worldview, the central focus of which is demons, fallen angels, and the powers of darkness.

Those who become captive to this perspective often tend toward cynicism and pessimism. More troubling still, they seem to regard these attitudes as somehow justified by biblical teaching. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Biblical Christianity is, by definition, Christocentric. Its focus is not the power of darkness, but the gift of God revealed in Jesus Christ. The resurrection stands before the believer as a continual source of hope and encouragement, despite the ills of the world and whatever personal suffering one may endure. The Christian is not taught to fixate on the darkness, but to live in the light of Christ’s triumph over it.

Doomerism is not endorsed by the scriptures, but condemned.
