I used to play exclusively solo tarkov and honestly it is just a mental block you gotta get over. A lot of it is gear fear so don't be afraid to take decent loadouts in.
Soon enough you'll be running around without a care in the world (though a healthy amount of care is good).
@Thirteenthsteps it was a bug in one map, that they fixed, within hours. I understand your point but this is making it seem like this was a pervaling issue that affected the entire game.
Seeing a LOT of confusion on the Sponsored Survival mode in Marathon Season 2.
It is a PvP Lite mode. NOT PvE.
The PvE mode is coming later during the season. Repost & Like for awareness ❤️
@DSR_Joker I don't think it 'failed' necesarily. But it is certainly struggling to find a broader audience. And that is more to do with the game mode being only extraction. A campaign + other multiplayer modes would have been substantially better imo.
@XpectEvil@Sarojh3@whiteshadow_001@totithoth True, but you also have to consider how the money is spent. It's not just development. It also includes support for servers, maintenance, salaries, hardware, and so on.
It's a difference in cost all around. End of the day we only know for sure, D2 was extremely expensive to make
the push for D3 being co-opted by full blown right wing grifters is hilarious because D2 is so unapologetically gay
It’s also sad that tim pool and grummz associates think they can associate with the product
If Marathon fails then so does Bungie. If Marathon succeeds then Bungie lives to pitch Destiny 3 one day. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s the closest we’re getting to it right now.
The boycotting by creators only erodes the chances of what they really want. Gun to my head between D3 and Marathon I’m picking the former. We got Marathon though so let’s make the best of it.
Also the “just sell the IP” people need to take their medications. In no world would Destiny in anyone else’s hands besides Bungie feel right. Maybe I’d trust BioWare, but that’s a true stretch.
All in all actually give Marathon a shot on future free weekends if you haven’t. It’s a great game that deserves respect.
@DSR_Joker I mean, I have no way of knowing for certain, but I can speak from experience with just the video production side alone. Those cutscenes we got were probably absurdly expensive. Prestige TV production expensive. Plus the cost of everything else, I would guess about 100M or more.
@Sarojh3@whiteshadow_001@DirtyEffinHippy@totithoth As Liana replied, many things, including the engine. But again, think about the scale of production. FF14, Warframe, Runescape and Elder Scrolls do get all of that, but NOT with the production that Bungie did. Mocap, Music, Cinematics, plus game dev, seasonally, at AAA levels.
Half the community is going to hate me for saying this, but the only way to keep Bungie alive right now is to support Marathon. People keep comparing Marathon numbers to Destiny and frankly, that's ignorant. Marathon was never designed to do Bungie numbers. The conversations about that were very upfront early. It's more aligned with Tarkov than Destiny. Completely different target markets that just so happen to have a wide intersection with Destiny target markets since it uniquely has so many.
@Sarojh3@whiteshadow_001@DirtyEffinHippy@totithoth Think about it: raids and dungeons, seasons, cinematics, teams for each of the seasons, music, voices, balancing, engineering, etc. Even if it wasn't always a hit, every single year was pushed to be a AAA release. And maintained, of course costs ballooned.
@TIger598197@Thirteenthsteps The entire question was, 'Did you like the game?' Making it an asinine debate about if it appealed to a broad market, like you are an investor, is quite frankly, idiotic. As a game, in the genre it is in, with how it plays, it is a good game. Anything else is another topic.
@Thirteenthsteps@TIger598197 For a measure of it. Taste, however, is not deterministic of quality. It'd be one thing if the game had lost all appeal instantly, but it did not. That many people haven't played it or don't like it is not an indicator of it being poorly made.
@TIger598197@Thirteenthsteps If it is so objective, why is there a subset that differs? do not make the vulgar mistake of believing your personal feelings for factual truth
