Author Jeanette Winterson on going for it:
"I have noticed that doing the sensible thing is only a good idea when the decision is quite small. For the life-changing things, you must risk it."

What’s your procrastination distraction?
Here are my top 3:
1. Reading
2. Exercising
3. Cleaning
Not so bad, right? But if I ask if there’s something more important I should be doing, and the answer is yes, then this list isn’t great.
What’s your go-to distraction?
Assessing your progress:
Avoid "To-Date Thinking," focusing on where your project is to date. Research warns this may lead to a false sense of accomplishment and cause you to slack off.
Instead, Embrace...
"To-Go Thinking." It focuses on the distance left to go, which increases motivation. Never overly congratulate yourself on a half-finished task. Save the praise for when the job is entirely done.
Improve your productivity by becoming a better procrastinator!
1. Prioritize your #1 project.
2. Schedule it daily. (1 hour or 2)
3. No multi-tasking.
4. Focus on one thing at a time.
5. Procrastinate on the other projects.
6. Rinse & Repeat. Go to priority #2. …
3 Rules to Start Your Next Presentation.
1. Paper, not your PC
2. I.D. the K.F.D. What do you want your audience to
* Know,
* Feel,
* Do?
3. Slides: Think Billboard, not Document:
10-20-30 Rule:
* 10 slides
* 20 minutes
* 30-point font.
@LanaCamiel Images and videos are critical for presentations. Often, I'll have an image without words. Instead of using online stock art, use your own pictures and videos.
@mrreeJ Thanks, Tyree. I have a new keynote speech and an upcoming book titled "Rejection Proof Your Pitch." Please let me know if anyone in your circle would be interested. Thanks, Ed.
The crux is the most complex and challenging part of mountain climbing. Unless you solve the crux, your climb will not be successful.
As entrepreneurs [or everyday people], we also have a crux. Unless we solve this complex problem, we will not be successful.
What's your crux?
@LanaCamiel 1. How can I make the audience a part of the show?
2. Tell an audience success story. That is, tell a story about a person in their organization.
3. A fun activity
4. Small group discussion groups.
Will your presentation pass “The Fire Alarm” test?
If the fire alarm goes off, will your audience return or only a few?
How can you make your presentation so compelling that everyone rushes back for more?
Medicators are not the same as Medicine.
Medicators are what you reach for when you are stuck:
- alcohol
- drugs
- food
- shopping
- watching screens
Sometimes, the best Medicine is to face and fix the issue.
