I feel bad for all the folks who are about to lose their jobs, the talented creatives whose projects will die in the turnover, and the regime of Ellison is where stories will certainly be met with more scrutiny…and for all the wrong reasons.
Lufia I & II: The Sinistrals Saga will feature a revised script by original Game Designer Masahide Miyata!
"The fact that there's still many fans sending their messages of support for a game I created over a quarter of a century ago is quite simply the greatest reward a game creator could ask for. It truly makes me happy.
I was given the opportunity to re-write the script (which due to the memory limitations of the SNES was mainly written in hiragana) in kanji for this release, and as a result, I reread every line of dialogue in both Lufia I and Lufia II.
Frankly, there's plenty of dialog that made me feel a little embarrassed for my younger self, but revisiting it also brought back so many memories from the game's development making it an incredibly enjoyable experience.
Maxim, Selan, Tia, Lufia...
I would like to say 'thank you' to all the fans who have given me the chance for this reunion with you all."

This is kind of weird, but there’s a monologue in an old SNES game called Lufia 2 where one of the heroes tells a kid that tears are special and to save them for really important things in life. That always stuck with me.
This is a dream re-release!
Lufia 1 & 2 are coming back. HUGE! Lufia 2 in particular is the best JRPG on SNES that I did not play as a kid. Ancient Cave, iykyk!
On one hand, holy crap. Lufia 2 is amazing and never got the recognition it deserved back in the day.
On the other hand, I hope the different text rendering points to this being more than a simple port, because it would be very silly to re-release the game with bugs intact.

An Alucard concept sketch for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Even as a rough design, he already looks impossibly cool.
Some characters are just born iconic.

If you were wondering why so many Re- and Decomps were made recently, it's because of AI.
They are often not on par with the quality of earlier decomps (SM64, MM) or recomps (MM) - there is often less care, less technical know-how with the decisionmakers and less QA involved.
@RyDawgE_ The quality of a decomp is not how well it compiles original binary - if it was, you could just use the original binary.
It's about how legible and modifiable the code is. E.g. you could leave all functions named after ROM address and get a matching ROM, but low legibility.
