Jackson Leggett, 19, filed a federal lawsuit for malicious prosecution following his arrest and eight-day detention over a sarcastic, misunderstood classroom comment made during his senior year in 2024. After participating in school-sanctioned senior pranks, 17-year-old Leggett sarcastically asked classmates if he should "burn the school down" amid rumors about his actions. A teacher reported this comment, leading to a suspension, which then escalated to a felony disorderly conduct charge and juvenile detention.
Leggett was forced to complete his senior year remotely, missed his basketball season, and was barred from graduation, according to the lawsuit. Despite the charges being dropped, the arrest record restricts him from obtaining a FOID card. Filed against Newark Community High School District 18, school officials, and the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, the suit seeks damages for the alleged malicious prosecution and violation of rights. The school district termed the lawsuit "meritless," while the Sheriff's Office maintained the initial arrest was supported by probable cause.

Deanna Harrell, 35, has been arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide after allegedly crashing her pickup truck through a beach toll booth, killing the worker inside, before driving onto the sand and into the ocean. Harrell was driving her pickup truck at approximately 40 mph down the Dunlawton Avenue beach approach in Daytona Beach Shores when she plowed directly into a beach ramp toll booth.
The impact killed Tammie Jo Baker, 62, a long-time beach employee. Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood noted the heartbreaking timing, stating that Baker had entered the booth to start her shift just 35 seconds before she was struck. Surveillance and eyewitness videos show that after obliterating the booth, Harrell kept driving onto the crowded beach, tearing through the water and sand until her truck became stuck in the ocean surf. Beachgoers were filmed scrambling out of the way to avoid being hit.

A viral video shows a Florida man successfully unlocking a police cruiser in under 10 seconds after sheriff's deputies accidentally locked their keys and essential gear inside the vehicle. A St. Lucie County Sheriff's Department deputy accidentally locked his keys and law enforcement equipment inside a marked patrol SUV while responding to a call. A casually dressed bystander, identified by onlookers in the video as "Charles," stepped up to help the stranded officers.
Using a long metal lockout wire tool, the man expertly bypassed the window frame and popped the lock mechanism while the deputies stood by and watched.
In the clip, the man jokingly tells the camera, "I'm gonna charge a thousand dollars like you charge me" before opening the door, prompting cheers from the crowd. When asked if he is a professional locksmith, he laughs and responds, "No, I just know how to get in them. The new people gotta learn the hard way".

During a high-profile interview with the Wall Street Journal and on The Diary of a CEO podcast, the 28-year-old creator broke down his shocking financial strategy, explaining that he is entirely "asset-rich and cash-poor". Adrienne Bailon-Houghton recently sat down for a nostalgic look back at her iconic early 2000s Disney Channel characters, sharing untold behind-the-scenes memories about her time on That’s So Raven and The Cheetah Girls. In an interview with Stylecaster, the actress and TV personality watched old clips and broken down the secrets behind her most famous roles.
While reviewing her time playing Raven’s school bully, Alana Rivera, Adrienne revealed that almost every time she appeared on screen, she was actually wearing a wig. During her first episode, crew members accidentally got blue paint stuck in her real hair. Because her hair was heavily bleached blonde at the time, they worried it would soak up the permanent stain, forcing them to quickly throw a wig and butterfly clips on her. Adrienne noted that what made playing enemies on screen so easy and fun was the fact that she and Raven-Symoné were incredibly close friends in real life.

Will Smith confirmed that he made two phone calls to Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar to seek advice before launching his comeback rap album Based on a True Story. During a live radio interview on Sway in the Morning, Smith revealed that before returning to the recording studio for his first album in 20 years, he reached out to the two hip-hop icons for creative guidance. Rather than giving technical rapping tips, both titans heavily emphasized authenticity and raw honesty.
Jay-Z told Smith, "Don’t fake your story." He warned Smith not to look at younger rappers and try to emulate their realities or lifestyles because it wouldn't be genuine to who he is. Jay-Z urged him to focus purely on his own life narrative, which directly inspired the title of Smith's album, Based on a True Story. Kendrick took a similar but more blunt approach, telling Smith, "Man, just say that sht you've always been fcking scared to say."
Lamar encouraged him to stop playing it safe, embrace vulnerability, and dive into deeper, uncomfortable emotions.
