Sara and Liz, from The Ethel Trust were delighted to accept a donation of £800 from the ladies of Lees Hall Golf Club. The ladies captain, Jane, chose us as her charity for the year after enjoying with pupils from Sheffield College. We thank them for their generous donation.

Over the last 2 weekends, Ethel has been a sensory Christmas Grotto. This was jointly organised with the children's charity @Sparklesheffield. Families spent 30 mins with Father and Mother Christmas and Elf ! Thanks to everyone who assisted and supported this wonderful event!

Our guests on Wednesday 3rd December were from Smile, Cantley Doncaster.
The weather was dull and overcast and very cold for most of the trip, but there was plenty to see along the way!

The Chesterfield B'Friend Group members were eager for their festive fish and chips to arrive on board Pearl at Bramwith Bridge on Monday! Surrounded by Christmas lights, and singing along to favourite Christmas songs. The skipper was Roger, crew Dave S and David T.

It was a pleasure today to visit The Paddocks at Wilsic Hall to receive a cheque for £404. The Ethel Trust is their chosen charity this year. The money was raised at the Summer Festival event where they had a great day. A big Thank You to everyone who worked so hard!

Ethel is safely back at Sheffield Victoria Quays! After her check-up in Thorne, she made the chilly journey back over the last 2 days — a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who braved the freezing weather, skipper and crew ,Paul S, Tony R, Liz C, Chris D, John C and Andy P.

🎃🚢 The Ethel Trust is thrilled to announce that Pearl will be joining this year’s Ghost Ships Halloween Boat Parade! 🚢🎃 Saturday 26th October From Long Sandall to Stainforth. Boats gather at Long Sandall from 6pm and set sail around 7.15.

Yesterday on Pearl our guests were from Rivelin House Nursing Home. We stopped when we spotted the Swans, so that the guests could feed them.
That went down very well! The lady in the wheelchair especially enjoyed feeding them. Skipper Andy P, crew Mike S and Simon W.

Guests from Amersall Court Residential Home took part in a trip last Friday, Skipper John C crew Martin F & Mike S. The still water gave a nice backdrop to the signs of Autumn.
What a difference today! The high winds had blown lots of floating weed up to the lock gates!

Today we welcomed a group from Sheffield Mencap Gardening Group aboard Ethel . They thoroughly enjoyed themselves with a few of them wanting to take the wheel straight away. We went to Tinsley where they went to see the sculpture and had lunch

A wonderful sunny trip for B Friend (Balby) on Pearl. We headed out and turned between Stainforth and Bramwith and arrived at noon for a meal at the New Inn. Shortly we were joined for a lunch stop by the Tilly community canal boat. Skipper John B & crew Aubrey and Angela B.

A beautiful autumn day for the group from Adulam Housing on Ethel yesterday. The colours of the trees were absolutely stunning in the sunlight. Several of the group did some very skilled steering of the boat.
