ETH Taraba

The Ethereum community in Taraba State, Nigeria

[Penforce🖊 ⚕️ @force26645]

@sandlip_oasis @Web3Taraba @Ethereum_Taraba @xdownglow @chaoss_africa @EthereumNetw As an active contributor, I left #TechX26 with this ringing in my mind

Find problems.
Create useful work.
Document it.
Build relationships.
Keep showing up.

That's how reputation compounds.

Thank you @SandlipOasis and everyone who made #TechX26 happen in Jalingo. 🇳🇬

[Penforce🖊 ⚕️ @force26645]

@sandlip_oasis @Web3Taraba @Ethereum_Taraba @xdownglow @chaoss_africa @EthereumNetw But while the event went on, i kept thinking about #DeSci my niche.

Even though #DeSci was not spotlighted today in the event, I pondered, What happens when we connect:
Science + Open Source + Decentralised coordination
with emerging communities in places like #Jalingo?

[Penforce🖊 ⚕️ @force26645]

@sandlip_oasis @Web3Taraba @Ethereum_Taraba @xdownglow @chaoss_africa There was no dull moment as #TechX26 brought together conversations around:
• Open source
• Web3
• Grants & bounties
• Protocol work
• Communities
• Contributor pathways

And names like @sandlip_oasis , @chaoss_africa , @EthereumNetw and others where recommended.

[Penforce🖊 ⚕️ @force26645]

@sandlip_oasis @Web3Taraba @Ethereum_Taraba @xdownglow @chaoss_africa Upon arrival I was ambushed with with this statement by the first speaker

"you don't need to be hired for you to contribute to the ecosystem"

That challenged the conventional job-hunting mindset.
Don't only look for who is hiring. Look for where you can create value.

[Penforce🖊 ⚕️ @force26645]

I went in expecting another Web3 event in #Jalingo 🤷
but
I left with a very different perspective on what it means to actually contribute to the ecosystem from Nigeria.

Here are the biggest things I took away as benefits of me attending #TechX26🧵👇

[Penforce🖊 ⚕️ @force26645]

@sandlip_oasis @Web3Taraba @Ethereum_Taraba @xdownglow @chaoss_africa Just while I was still processing the first knowledge gained, the second speaker came with an interesting question
“Who owns what you build as a contributor?"
Stressing the fact that we need to understand the relationship between our work, ownership, attribution and the project

[Penforce🖊 ⚕️ @force26645]

@sandlip_oasis @Web3Taraba @Ethereum_Taraba @xdownglow @chaoss_africa In the current market condition, when there is less noise in the ecosystem, Today's event showed a pathway worth paying attention to:

Learn → Contribute → Get reviewed → Build reputation → Access opportunities.

This is vital, as Open source needs better contributors

[Sandlip Oasis @sandlip_oasis]
