๐ฎ BEFORE YOU SPEND A SMALL FORTUNE ON ANOTHER CONSOLE, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS WEEK'S GAMING PC BUILD!
@Sony, this build is dedicated to you!
Our goal is simple: a capable 1080p gaming PC for $900โ$1,000 or less. No fancy liquid cooling, no expensive RGB circus, and no monthly payment just to access online multiplayer.
Here's the complete shopping list, using advertised prices found October 26, 2026.
1. CPU-AMD Ryzen 5 5500, 6 cores / 12 threads.
2. MOTHERBOARD-Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC R2, AM4, with Wi-Fi.
3. MEMORY-G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4-3200.
Those first three components come together in a Micro Center bundle: $229.99 (in-store purchase).
https://t.co/ZA6dtu1Sjy
4. GRAPHICS CARD- XFX Speedster SWFT210 Radeon RX 7600, 8GB: $329.99, Micro Center.
https://t.co/agWMj1bmQ6
5. STORAGE-Silicon Power UD90 1TB NVMe SSD: $179.79, Newegg.
https://t.co/4bNuKkQIbL
6. POWER SUPPLY- MSI MAG A650BN, 650W 80+ Bronze: $64.99, Newegg.
https://t.co/tCrFpuSRlC
7. CASE-Montech X3 Mesh, with preinstalled fans: $69.99, Micro Center.
https://t.co/tLtYCISgwM
8. CPU COOLER-AMD Wraith Stealth: $0 extra if included with the boxed Ryzen 5 5500 in this bundle. Confirm before checkout.
9. OPERATING SYSTEM-Linux: $0. Windows: paid license, not included.
TOTAL ADVERTISED PARTS COST: $874.75 before tax and shipping.
This is a 1080p gaming build, not a promise of Ultra settings in every new AAA game. The RX 7600's 8GB VRAM and 16GB system memory are the main limitations. Some games with anti-cheat won't run on Linux, so check your library first.
And here's the part console manufacturers won't put in a commercial: you can upgrade individual parts, choose your storefront, and play supported online games without a console multiplayer subscription. What a radical concept. ๐คฃ
Prices and availability can change. Micro Center bundles may require in-store pickup. Confirm cooler inclusion and final checkout totals before purchasing. Monitor, keyboard, mouse, and Windows license are not included.

๐ฎ GHOST OF YOTEI SELLS MILLIONS. SONY'S DEVELOPERS GET PINK SLIPS. THAT'S THE THANKS DEVS GET?
Sony-owned Sucker Punch Productions, the studio behind Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yลtei, has reportedly cut 26 jobs. According to Aftermath's October 26 reporting, journalist Nathan Grayson spoke with a former employee and reviewed an internal management email describing the reductions.
This is the same studio that delivered one of PlayStation's biggest recent exclusives. Apparently, making a hit game still doesn't earn developers immunity from the corporate spreadsheet.
Imagine pouring years into a successful game, watching the company celebrate its performance, then finding out your reward is a meeting with management. Nothing says "we value our talent" quite like reducing the talent.
Sony hasn't publicly confirmed the reported headcount, and we don't know which roles were affected. The studio's next project remains unannounced. Those distinctions matter.
We can praise PlayStation games and still demand better treatment for the people who make them. Great games don't materialize out of a boardroom PowerPoint.
How does a successful studio end up cutting staff? Gamers deserve to ask, and developers deserve answers.

๐ฎ DOCTOR DOOM HAS A CASTLE. MARVEL COSMIC INVASION IS COMING TO EVICT HIM!
Tribute Games revealed new details for The Siege of Castle Doom, the second paid expansion for Marvel Cosmic Invasion, arriving November 10 on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.
Doctor Doom and the Invisible Woman join the playable roster, alongside a new replayable castle assault. You'll choose routes, collect upgrades, dodge traps, and race to stop Doom's Cosmic Inductor before his defenses overwhelm your team.
The developers say the mode contains more than five times as many encounters as the main campaign. That's a lot of opportunities for Doom to remind everyone how intellectually superior he is while getting punched through his own furniture.
I like seeing developers add something substantial instead of selling us two costumes and calling it an expansion. It's paid DLC, so the real test will be whether the gameplay earns the asking price.
Ready to storm Castle Doom, or are you waiting to see the reviews?

๐จ CAPCOM HACKED: 11.7 MILLION RECORDS EXPOSED. GAMERS GET ANOTHER APOLOGY!
Capcom, the company behind Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter, has confirmed unauthorized access to its CAPCOM ID service. A staggering 11,774,247 records were affected worldwide.
Exposed information includes email addresses, account creation dates, login activity, and last-login IP addresses. Hackers also changed passwords on 196 accounts. Another 43 records included additional personal details.
And there's an update: Capcom confirmed that 19 Japanese e-Capcom shopping accounts had information exposed, including names, addresses, phone numbers, and purchase histories.
The good news? Capcom says customer-created passwords weren't confirmed stolen, credit card data wasn't affected, and games remain playable.
The bad news? Your inbox may now become a phishing playground. Apparently, surviving a Resident Evil outbreak is easier than keeping your personal information out of somebody else's hands.
If you use CAPCOM ID, watch for fake Capcom emails. Don't click suspicious links. Visit the official site directly to check your account.
Companies keep demanding that gamers create accounts for everything. Maybe protecting those accounts should be part of the deal.

๐ฎ HELLDIVERS 2 IS HANDING OUT FREE FIREPOWER. HAPPY LIBERTY DAY!
Good news, Helldivers. Arrowhead is celebrating Liberty Day today, October 26, with a free AR-23L Liberator Legacy rifle, festive Super Destroyer decorations, and community activities.
The rifle is a throwback to the First Galactic War. To qualify, you need to have played Helldivers 2 at least once since September 26. Arrowhead says the reward will be distributed at the end of Liberty Day, 23:59 CET today. If you haven't been on lately, log in and join the festivities before then.
A gaming company giving players a weapon without demanding another purchase? Somebody alert the media. ๐คฃ
Credit where it's due. Free in-game goodies and a reason to reunite with your squad are exactly the kind of news worth sharing.
Now get out there, spread some democracy, and try not to call an orbital strike on your own teammates. Again.

Every time Greta Thunberg shows up at another protest....cameras aren't far behind. At what point does the spectacle start drowning out the cause?
When the headlines become more about the activist than the issue, something is very wrong.
She' the head clown in the social media circus fight for footage.
People should seriously stop paying attention to that fool.

๐MODDERS JUST UNLOCKED PERFORMANCE NVIDIA LEFT ON THE TABLE!
Well, this is interesting. Developers found a way around limits on certain AI calculations in GeForce RTX 20, 30, and 40-series GPUs. The hardware was already capable of more. It just wasn't allowed to use all of it for these workloads.
On an RTX 4090, FP16 Tensor Core instruction throughput jumped from 165.6 to 331.6 TFLOPS in testing. That's almost double. Real matrix-multiplication gains were smaller, around 12โ34% in one independent test. Results vary by card and workload.
Now, before you start celebrating the double FPS in Cyberpunk, this is AI computing performance, not a gaming frame-rate boost. The unlock is experimental, and messing with low-level GPU settings carries real risks.
Still, there's something awesome about buying a powerful graphics card, then watching independent developers discover the parts of its performance that were kept behind a wall.
NVIDIA sells the hardware. Modders help the hardware stretch its legs.
I can't wait to try it!

๐ฎ SONY'S MESSAGE TO GAMERS: THE PRICE WENT UP. THE DEMAND DIDN'T DROP. SO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?
This is why I went to PC. The condescension is staggering!
Sony raised PlayStation hardware prices in some markets. And in its own investor Q&A, Sony said it doesn't think those increases reduced customer demand.
Yup, Rlread it again. Sony doesn't give a shit.
Gamers are paying more, Sony says sales are going as planned, and we're supposed to admire the value while our wallets empty.
Sony also says it doesn't intend to sell hardware at significant losses. Fair enough. Businesses need profits. But gamers aren't obligated to like every price hike just because the Sony's books look healthy.
Here's what Sony should be asked on November 5: How much of the increased cost comes from components? How much is being passed to customers? And what measurable value are PlayStation gamers getting in return?
Don't confuse gamers continuing to buy your products with customers being happy about the price. They're not!
Sony's second-quarter earnings report is November 5. Gamers, watch what gets celebrated, what's explained, and what's conveniently left unanswered.
@Sony- " If we ignore them, they will go away".

Good question, Dino. So far short-term testing looks okay, but nobody can honestly tell you what it'll do in the long run.
The latest RTX 4090 tests showed higher power consumption, but temperatures remained reasonable. That's a good sign. Normal is good!
For me It's long-term stability and wear that I need to see. So far we don't have enough testing to call it safe.
I'd let the devs put some serious hours on it before risking an expensive GPU.
๐จ PLAYSTATION ACCOUNTS UNDER ATTACK? SONY, GAMERS NEED ANSWERS! YOU NEED TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT THIS ONE!
Um, gamers, here's something that deserves attention.
New reports dated October 26 describe PlayStation users discovering unfamiliar child accounts in their PSN family lists. Others say their account email addresses were changed without permission. Some suspect attackers got past two-factor authentication. WTF?
Now, here's where we separate facts from internet fireworks. These are user reports. A widespread password-and-2FA bypass has NOT been independently confirmed, and Sony hasn't publicly explained what's happening. @Sony WTF Not?
Imagine paying for a console, games, and years of digital purchases, then waking up to find somebody else rearranging your account. Yeah, the family plan comes with surprise relatives. Oh @Sony How thoughtful. ๐
Sony, gamers deserve an explanation, a proper investigation, and account recovery that actually protects the account owner.
Check your PSN family members, account-change emails, and recent transactions. Keep 2FA enabled, and contact PlayStation Support if anything looks wrong. So they can just ignore you. If they don't acknowledge it, it doesn't exist. Right Sony?

๐ฎ GOOGLE LOST ITS STOREFRONT ANTITRUST FIGHT. SONY SHOULD PAY ATTENTION.๐ฏ
Google controlled the Play Store, restricted competing app distribution, and steered developers toward its billing system. Epic took Google to court and won. A jury found antitrust violations, and an appeals court upheld the verdict and injunction.
Google has had to open things up. More payment choices, more ways for developers to direct customers to other offers, and changes aimed at giving rival app stores a fairer shot. Funny how competition suddenly becomes possible when a court gets involved.
Now look at Sony.
Buy a digital-only PS5. Want a downloadable PlayStation game? You're shopping through Sony's storefront. There's no competing digital game store on that console where you can compare prices.
Sony is also fighting a roughly 2 billion UK competition claim over PlayStation digital sales and pricing. Sony denies wrongdoing. Of course they do, " have checkbook will travel!".... Everything goes away!
I'm not saying Google's ruling automatically makes Sony guilty. It doesn't. Different companies, different markets, different facts.
I'm saying gamers have every right to ask why the company controlling the hardware also gets to control the digital checkout, with no rival storefront competing for the sale.
Fair competition keeps prices down, and let's the gamer shop for the best deal.
@Sony wants to stop that.

That is a good idea. I put up posts encouraging people to file Federal Trade Commission complaints. The lawsuits going on in the United Kingdom , Europe, and the US are not coincidental. They demonstrate a pattern of anti competition behavior. I believe they could be in the antitrust
realm.
If enough people were to file a 3 minute FTC complaint... They would take notice. This isn't the first time the FTC has slapped Sony's hand. Go back in my posts and read the series I put up on their legal troubles. This response is not aimed at @BeerAid . It's intended for everyone. https://t.co/v3JehCsTOi
@JMMODE@Sony Very well put! I see a trend, and it's a little disturbing. We absolutely must keep pressure on Sony. Better yet, we need to keep up the pressure on all the corpos. Their plan is to remain silent.
Well, not sure as hell ain't my plan.๐คฃ
โ๏ธ SONY'S 2 BILLION POUND (2.67 BILLION USD) UK COURTROOM SHOWDOWN: GAMERS ARE WAITING.
Sony has spent years building a digital empire where PlayStation gamers buy the games through Sony's storefront, on Sony's terms. But that business model has faced a serious challenge in a UK courtroom, and in the USA.
A class-action claim worth approximately 2 billion British Pound alleges Sony abused its market position by restricting competition in digital PlayStation game sales. Roughly 12 million UK gamers could be affected.
Yeah, sound familiar? California's $7,85 Million antitrust class-action settlement in Caccuri v. Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC is champ changed by comparison.
I digress.
The trial concluded May 8, 2026. As of October 26, the Competition Appeal Tribunal's published status remains: JUDGMENT PENDING.
To be clear: Sony hasn't been found liable, and no compensation has been awarded. Sony disputes the allegations. But questions raised by this case deserve attention.
When a company controls the console, the storefront, and the rules for buying digital games, how much meaningful choice does the gamer really have?
So, buying the hardware wasn't enough. The privilege of shopping inside a walled garden comes with a gatekeeper, too. How thoughtful @Sony
This is bigger than any one company or country. It's about whether gamers are customers with choices...or captive audiences with credit cards.
We'll be watching for the judgment. Sony's lawyers can argue their case. Gamers can keep asking why competition needs permission.
@Sony controls the Well, the water, and the bucket. What kind of shit is that!?
