Today marks 500 days since the #GeorgiaProtests began on November 28, 2024 — the day the Georgian Dream, announced it was halting Georgia’s bid for EU membership.
What followed has been a prolonged and escalating crisis. Peaceful demonstrations have been met with violent crackdowns, while the country has seen the rise of over 120 political prisoners. At the same time, authorities have introduced dozens of repressive laws and legal amendments, tightening control over dissent and democratic institutions.
Despite this pressure, the protests have not stopped.
Their demands are:
•The release of all political prisoners
•The holding of new, free, and fair parliamentary elections

„Doctors say it’s a miracle I survived. During the November 2024 protests, while reporting live from #Tbilisi, I was attacked from behind by a special forces officer-targeted not for breaking the law, but simply for holding a microphone and doing my job as a journalist.
What matters most after the attack? There is still no investigation“ - Journalist Guram Rogava addressed the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Human Rights.

ყველა მათგანი გადარჩა და ამჟამად უსაფრთხო ადგილას არიან გადაყვანილნი.

🧵 1/3 When the Supreme Court rejects an appeal as inadmissible, it refuses to review the merits of the case or weigh the evidence. Consequently, the lower Court of Appeals' ruling remains in full force.
