European Aluminium and @EUROFER_eu are urging the @EU_Commissionto act on rising scrap exports that undermine Europe’s green transition and energy security.

Aluminium is recognised by the EU as a critical and strategic raw material, essential for Europe’s green transition, as well as for digital and defence applications. Furthermore, it can be recycled using up to 95% less energy compared to primary production, making it vital for decarbonisation. That’s why it’s crucial to recycle as much of it as possible within Europe.

We urgently call on policymakers to take action to limit exports, strengthen regulations, and boost Europe’s recycling capacity ♻️.
