Mari Kosunen interviewed Lauri Greis about his Karelian Sportslore collection, which blends Karelian national costume with modern sportswear. Inspired by his grandmother’s Antrea costume, the collection is a tribute to her.

In the jewelry-making course at the @helsinkiuni, Kaisa Hyrsky’s students drew inspiration from Karelian textile traditions. Mari Kosunen discussed Karelian jewelry, and many students incorporated elements from Karelian folk costumes, reflecting their ancestry. #Karelian

The Helsinki TRACTion interviewed Taina Kangas, a National Costume consultant, at the National Costume Center of Finland. Kangas discussed her 40-year experience, focusing on Eastern Finnish Äyrämöinen costumes. Mari Kosunen translated the interview from Finnish to English.

Mari Kosunen and Aino Eerikäinen of the University of Helsinki visited the National Costume Center of Finland to study Eastern Finnish national costumes. Consultant Taina Kangas provided historical insights, noting similarities to 19th-century folk costumes, surprising the team.
Malta’s TRACtion team hosted two workshops,‘Reforming the Għonnella - Tradition Meets Innovation,’ at @SCCPembrokeSec for teachers and another for @UMmalta students. Sessions aimed to educate about the Għonnella’s importance and encourage creative innovation in Maltese costumes.
@ATUStAngelas in Ireland hosted TRACtion partners. They explored textile heritage, focusing on costume motifs and lace techniques. Held a seminar titled "Activating Design Thinking, Creativity, and Innovation" discussing traditional costume techniques' cultural significance.
