An Emergency Security Protocol.

When triggered by one Member State, all Member States would coordinate a European response.

We will also set out our ideas to make a European Security Council a reality.

With partners like Ukraine, UK, Norway, Canada and others involved.

This morning I spoke with Chancellor Merz to discuss the hybrid attack at Leipzig airport.

I assured him that the EU stands in full solidarity with Germany in the face of this attack by Russia.

We will keep the EU united despite these escalating and serious acts. The German government has taken strong measures. And the message is clear: hybrid attacks will not go without a clear response.

We are united in our resolve to stand against Russian aggression. We will deter anyone who seeks to undermine our freedom and security.

Russia is seeking to sow distrust and fear among our societies. But it will fail. And we will stand by Ukraine for as long as it takes.

I will discuss this topic tomorrow with NATO Secretary General Rutte. And the matter, including additional sanctions, will be prepared by Foreign Ministers at their upcoming meeting under the Irish Presidency.

The EU is sending assistance to Serbia as the country battles severe wildfires.

4 helicopters from our #rescEU fleet in 🇨🇿 , 🇷🇴 and 🇸🇰, and ground firefighting teams from 🇩🇪 and 🇷🇴 have been deployed via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The Israeli Government’s decision to publish construction tenders for the E1 settlement project is unacceptable.

We have long opposed this step.

It undermines the two-state solution by dividing the West Bank and breaking the territorial continuity of the Palestinian Territories.

With great sadness we learned about the passing of former @EU_Commission VP Siim Kallas.

Through his public career he helped shape Estonia’s EU path and key European policies, from transport to administration.

With its Emergency Centre, Europe is keeping a close eye on blazes across the continent.

And the Civil Protection Mechanism is there when a country calls for Europe’s solidarity.

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake has struck Colombia.🇨🇴

The EU is releasing €2.1 million in emergency humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable - and @CopernicusEMS has been activated to support rescue operations.

As search and rescue operations continue, the EU is supporting Colombia wherever possible.

We are making €2 million available to support communities in the most affected areas.

Following Colombia’s activation of the Civil Protection Mechanism, we are working to match aid to the needs on the ground.
