💬 What does the Europe young people want look like?
A Europe where education creates opportunities, housing is affordable, mental health is protected, digital skills are developed, the environment is respected, and everyone has the chance to build their future.
🌍 This vision was at the heart of the dialogue between Ursula von der Leyen and members of the President’s Youth Advisory Board, which was also attended by representatives from the Republic of Moldova, who gathered in Brussels on 22 July. The discussions highlighted the importance of directly involving the younger generation in shaping European policies for the future.
🤝 European policies are stronger when they are built together with young people.

🇪🇺 🤝 🇲🇩 Seven entrepreneurs from the left bank of the Nistru River will benefit from approximately EUR 213,500 in non-reimbursable financial support from the European Union.
The entrepreneurs are from Tiraspol, Proteagailovca, Tîrnauca and Parcani and operate in various sectors (including textiles and clothing, fish processing, rubber recycling and the manufacture of recycled rubber products, animal feed production, mushroom cultivation, and the manufacture of electrical accessories and household items).
Through this funding, they will receive equipment, specialised services and advisory support to help them modernise their businesses, improve energy efficiency and become more competitive.
The initiative is implemented under the EU Confidence Building Measures Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP.
Valentin Railean received funding from the European Union to purchase equipment that transforms paper and cardboard waste into eco-friendly packaging.
Through the EU4Youth programme, Valentin benefited from mentoring, training, and financial support, which helped him turn his idea into a business with a positive impact on the environment and the circular economy.
♻️ Today, his company produces sustainable packaging solutions and demonstrates that an innovative idea, supported at the right moment, can become a successful business.
Overproduction in the textile industry is a major issue with a significant environmental impact 🌍. Large quantities of clothing remain unsold, and a portion of them end up being incinerated or disposed of as waste, even though they could be reused, donated, or recycled ♻️.
To reduce waste, the European Union 🇪🇺 is applying rules that ban large companies from destroying unsold clothing, clothing accessories, and footwear. The measure is part of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and aims to encourage more sustainable practices in the textile sector.
For the Republic of Moldova 🇲🇩, as an EU candidate country, this topic is relevant in the context of gradual alignment with European environmental standards and the development of better solutions for the reuse, separate collection, and sustainable management of textiles.
💬 “You have a different perspective on things. I would like to hear as many points of view as possible on various issues,” — with this message, Ursula von der Leyen opened the second meeting of the President of the European Commission’s Youth Advisory Board, held on 22 July 2026 in Brussels.
🤝 The discussions focused on key issues shaping the present and future of younger generations: affordable housing for a secure start in life, physical and mental health as a priority on the agenda, concrete actions for a sustainable future, as well as security and resilience in a united Europe.
Young people are no longer just observers — they are real partners in dialogue, helping shape the European policies of tomorrow.
