On this day in 2016, BHRT, the public broadcaster of 🇧🇦
Bosnia & Herzegovina announced the nation's withdrawal from the #Eurovision Song Contest. It has not competed in the contest since due to debt and funding issues.

On this day in 2014, 16 countries are announced as competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in 🇲🇹 Marsa, Malta. 🇮🇹, 🇲🇪 and 🇸🇮 debuted, while 🇧🇬, 🇭🇷, 🇨🇾 and 🇷🇸 returned to the contest. 🇦🇿, 🇲🇰 and 🇲🇩 withdrew.

On this day in 2007, 🇧🇬 Bulgaria selected its first entry for #JuniorEurovision. 10 acts competed in the national final with Bon-Bon selected with just under 25% of the votes cast. "Bonbolandiya" was performed in Rotterdam placing 7th out of 17 entries.

On this day in 2006, 🇵🇹 Portugal selected its first entry for #JuniorEurovision. 10 performers competed in Festival da Canção Júnior, Pedro Madeira was selected with "Deixa-me sentir", he finished 14th out of 15 participants in Bucharest.

On this day in 2005, Serbia & Montenegro selected their only entry for #JuniorEurovision. 18 performers competed in Junior Beovizija, Filip Vučić was selected with "Ljubav pa fudbal" (Љубав па фудбал), he placed 13th out of 16 entries in Hasselt.

On this day in 2016, 17 countries are confirmed for #JuniorEurovision 2016 in 🇲🇹 Valletta, Malta. 🇨🇾 Cyprus, 🇮🇱 Israel and 🇵🇱 Poland are formally confirmed as returning to the competition while 🇲🇪 Montenegro, 🇸🇲 San Marino and 🇸🇮 Slovenia withdraw.

On this day in 2007, the EBU confirmed that two Semi-Finals would be held for the first time as part of #Eurovision 2008 in 🇷🇸 Belgrade, Serbia. A number of ideas were suggested on how the semi-finals would work, before agreeing a semi-final on a Tuesday and Thursday.

On this day in 2003, 🇵🇱 Poland selected their first participant for #JuniorEurovision. 13 acts participated in Eurowizja dla Dzieci 2003, with Katarzyna Zurawik selected with "Coś mnie nosi".

On this day in 2002, the countries competing in #Eurovision 2002 in 🇪🇪 Tallinn, Estonia are announced. 🇵🇹 opted to withdraw, with 🇮🇸, 🇮🇪, 🇳🇱, 🇳🇴 and 🇵🇱 relegated. This meant 🇦🇹, 🇧🇪, 🇨🇾, 🇫🇮, 🇲🇰, 🇷🇴 & 🇨🇭 returned while 🇱🇻 was not relegated due to 🇵🇹 Portugal's withdrawal.
