Hey folks,

We were planning to share this video with you in early January as part of the bigger Season Start moment, but since some early speculation is making the rounds, we felt we should share it earlier.

This video is one section from the upcoming Dev Update after the holiday break. It covers some of our plans for League long term including:
- A brand new around-game client that’s fully integrated with the in-game experience
- A full visual overhaul of Summoner’s Rift
- Gameplay changes tied to that visual update
- Some changes to Runes and pre-game systems
- An improved new player experience

This work is part of our efforts to refocus on what we believe matters most to you. Over the past year, we hope you’ve been feeling this in the changes we’ve been making. This next phase builds on that momentum—and lays the groundwork for League’s next era.

We’ll share some more details with you next year sometime between MSI and Worlds, including approximately when in 2027 we’re aiming to have these updates land.

The legacy of Demacia will stand the test of time. Pass skins Petricite Cho’Gath, Durand’s Legacy Taliyah, and Prestige Veiled Lady Morgana are now on PBE.

We’re adding a new system called Aegis of Valor which will reward you with either double LP or full protection from LP loss on an autofilled game if you get a mastery score of C or higher.

New siegin mechanic called Crystalline Growth, will act similarly to Demolish, while Demolish is getting reworked into a 3 hit passive

The theme for Season 1 of 2026 will be Demacia ✨🛡️

The Rift will be updated with petricite, gold and blue accents, and more.

New role quests, similar to jungle pets and support items for other roles. Top lane gets teleport as a reward, mid lane gets tier 3 boots and bot lane gets a ton of bonus gold

Next year we’re cutting Atakhan out of the game, along with the Blood Roses and Petals that came with him.

We're introducing Faelights, special predetermined locations that if you place a ward in them, grant extra vision beyond a ward’s typical range.

Some will spawn at the beginning of the game and more will appear when the Elemental Rift transforms 👀
