Astro Twitter advice. I’m teaching a calc based intro to astro class and am unsure about the textbook. Most textbooks are algebra based. I am considering using one of those and supplementing with other resources. Advice? Alt textbooks suggestions welcomed!
@jrlomax I'm considering the openstax astronomy one (and probably the one I will use). I used the University Physics one last year and the students hated it. I like the idea of supplementing with a stats book, thanks!
Excited to announce that I will be a Professor of Practice at the University of Nebraska! Super excited to join my @UNLPhysics colleagues this fall and teach astronomy and physics classes!
Great work by the Early Release Science Team and cool results! It's amazing to see the atmosphere features in such detail. VHS 1256 b has sure come a long way since I observed it at @SubaruTelescope with @wistwitski and Jun Hashimoto in 2015.
Super happy that our press release highlighting our JWST spectrum of a planetary mass companion is now live. A great work led by Brittany Miles on our Early Release Science Team.
Saw 8 bald eagles today hanging out in a field!!! At least 3 appear to be juveniles. Has anyone ever seen bald eagles congregating like this that’s not next to a river?
