we got almost half a million for destiny 3, then they proceeded to layoff the entire Destiny 2 team and cancel support for D2. Sony does not care bc gamers haven't given them a reason to. They keep buying and supporting product. Once and if that ever slows down, good things will happen, until then they do not care.

- the number has a precedent: Dark Souls got its PC port in 2012 after a petition of nearly 100,000 - and Bandai Namco credited the fans directly
- it's not one petition anymore: Push Square counts at least 15 separate campaigns demanding a reversal
- sony's own announcement post now carries a community note spelling out that a digital purchase is a license, not ownership - more replies than likes, 127 million views
- meanwhile in Austria, Sony's disc plant is already converting: 300 workers are retraining to make optical microlenses, with mass production set for early 2027 - a year before discs officially die, per ORF

100,000 signatures ask Sony to keep making the disc.

So what we've learned is Sony was and is banking on Xbox's layoffs to take the heat away from them. That's why they made these announcements when they did. While people were upset with Xbox, and the industry as a whole, they wanted to announce:

➔ No more physical discs for new games
➔ PERMANENTLY lose your entire account, games, everything after 36 months of inactivity
➔ Closing the PS3 and PS Vita Stores
➔ Losing hundreds of movies users paid for with no reimbursement

Literally, they're banking on others hurting you more so they can try to get away with some of the worst, most anti-consumer policies like ever

While you were getting beaten and stabbed, Sony decided it was a good time to come in and steal your wallet—and think you wouldn't notice
