Last weekend’s 9/11 Day of Service & Remembrance was a powerful testament to our city’s commitment to one another.

Sending gratitude to @ServeDC, @AmeriCorps, and the Ward 8 community for coming together at @Leckie_EC to honor those we lost 💙

[Chancellor Jackson @DCPSChancellor]

My education at my alma mater shaped my @dcpublicschools leadership journey and continues to inspire the work I do for students & educators 💙❤️

DCPS starting the school year off strong:
‌
+ Fastest improving urban school district
+ School Without Walls #5 high school in the country
+ Increases in proficiency in math and ELA
+ #1 in post-pandemic academic recovery
‌
A proud reflection of our near $5 billion in investments in DC schools since 2015.

[Mayor Muriel Bowser @MayorBowser]

Big news! Schools Without Walls just ranked #5 out of 27,000 high schools in the US.

We’re proud of the progress happening across DC Public Schools, and a very special shout-out to our Walls Penguins. 🐧

What a great way to head into the new school year. https://t.co/ZL8dKKrQxD

The number 5⃣ spot on @usnews' Best High Schools ranking now belongs to one of @dcpublicschools' own!

Congrats to @SWWHSA, who define excellence through 100% graduation & college acceptance rates, rigorous AP & college-level coursework, and countless opportunities to shine💙🐧💙

The transition to middle or high school is a big one, and @dcpublicschools' Summer Bridge program helps make it a little smoother 🌉

Inspired by the rising 9th graders at @DukeEllingtonDC as they prepared for the year ahead while showcasing their talents on stage! 🎭🎶

Things to know about air quality in DC (7/17):

1. We’re currently in Code Purple.
2. We're advising sensitive groups to stay indoors as much as possible and all other groups to limit both time outside and to avoid heavy exertion activities. If you must go outside, wear a mask.
3. All DC Gov outdoor activities cancelled; outdoor pools and spray parks are closed.

[Evan Lambert @EvanLambertTV]

Reading is fundamental! Thanks to FOX 5 for having Chancellor Jackson and Director Reyes-Gavilan on to share advice to keep scholars engaged in learning over the summer.

Summer slide? Not on our watch. 😎📚

@DCPSChancellor Jackson joins Director Reyes-Gavilan from @dcpl and Fox 5's @MarissaMFOX5 to share a pro tip: read for 20 minutes a day to keep your skills sharp all summer long! 📚🌞

It’s an honor to begin this week as @dcpublicschools' Interim Chancellor.

The same passion that helped me earn DC's 2015 Principal of the Year at @SeatonDC still drives my commitment to our students and community.

Looking forward to achieving on behalf of our city 💙
