@gsterling I'm finding these SGE searches for local to be useless. They're just displaying (in text) the average rating and or the editorial snippet, slightly revised. Totally redundant information. I can see star ratings and total reviews perfectly fine in the standard SERP.
@ndyjsimpson@gsterling So far I haven't noticed any change in traffic for customers on Bing. In fact, we just wrapped a 6-month comparison of Google Business Profiles and Bing Places. Forget about beating Google, Bing is smaller than Apple and Yelp on Local Search.
When it comes to Local Search, if @bing wants to take the crown from @Google, they'll have to catch up to Apple and @Yelp first
Google search has gained market share in 2023 while Bing has declined.
@OpenAI and #ChatGPT have not tipped the scales (yet).

@JoyanneHawkins My speculation here is that impressions dropped due to diminishing ranking (bot traffic). Clicks though, could be coming from actual users and direct/branded search. Which would be unaffected by the impression share. Hard to say without seeing the keyword data.

@rustybrick More likely a result of advertisers looking to invest in Bing and Google, not a shift away from Google in favor of Bing. Market share for Bing is hardly up while Google also increased YOY. This does vary by market but it doesn't seem like Bing has gained many users with GPT.
