A big theme I took away from this class is learning about communities and their characteristics. This is crucial for social workers as they need to be familiar with the environment their client is in!

I learned about collecting census data this week! This will be beneficial in my social work practice as I can gather more information on different communities I work in and gain an idea of what issues need addressed.

Human trafficking is an issue around the world that needs attention. It is important for people to be aware of warning signs as well as become familiar with the issue.
My ideal geographic community would be a small community where everyone is close and supportive of one another as well as having schools, medical care, parks, etc. within close proximity.

The neighborhood I grew up in was friendly, helpful, and fun. I didn't have many neighbors, but the ones I did have were all very supportive of each other. I was always playing and hanging out with neighbors who became close friends of mine.
