@edfringe Artists being punished for some lads accounting error 10 years ago is BS. I'm exhausted by emails saying nothing apart from court case has been delayed sorry for your troubles. Surely @edfringe should be doing a better job of protecting artists?

So Summerhall (our ed fringe venue ) are being done for tax evasion. In the latest email Robert Mc Dowell (Summerhall owner) told us it is due to an accounting error made 10 years ago. They owe artists literally thousands in box office takings but their accounts are frozen.

I do not know the ins and outs of all the legal stuff but as an artist owed thousands I find it to be total fuckery that neither Summerhall or the @edfringe can guarantee that we will get our money. If it goes into liquidation we probably won't. this industry is so fucked wow.

@miriamattwood @Summerhallery I've no idea- the whole thing is almost too stressful to engage with. I hate that artists who rely on getting that money back for their livelihoods are just completely in limbo. Feels less likely every day that we will get paid TBH

It's actually JOKES @Summerhallery owe us all thousands. Every week they send an email saying they are working on it - last one actually suggested we write to our MPs. How is it artists jobs to lobby their MPs to get the money they are owed?
