You wouldn't know it if you live in the USA or consume US media and politics, but the fight between EVs and ICEs is basically over. Internal combustion is on it's way out. First it'll look slow, then fast. Fleet turnover will lag sales. But ALL the growth globally is in EVs. If your company isn't competitive in building EVs and can only build internal combustion, you're going to be stuck serving an ever-smaller share of a shrinking global market over the next decade...
@pluginsites I’m sure those same folks are prepared for it to be entirely privately funded then. No federal, state, or ratepayer funding involved, contrary to the last 30 years. 🙄

I *love* this quote from Pontevedra's mayor, Miguel Anxo Fernandez Lores:
"It's not my duty as Mayor to make sure you have a parking spot. For me, it's the same as if you bought a cow, or a refrigerator, and then asked me where you're going to put them."
So very, very many industrial projects are hindered by this bottleneck. In many cases, @energy Loan Programs Office can provide low cost financing to expand transformer manufacturing. Come call our bluff. Please.
Happy 100th Birthday, President Jimmy Carter!
As the founder of the Department of Energy, President Carter paved the way for America's brightest energy future.
Our nation is better because of his lifelong commitment to public service and humanitarianism.
Auto shoppers say they're more likely to buy an electric vehicle if they could fill up at home. So we’re going to make it easy for our customers. If you buy or lease a new @Ford electric vehicle, we’ll include a complimentary home charger. This is part of something we’re calling the Ford Power Promise, which is about giving our electric vehicle customers convenience, peace of mind and expert service. I explain more about the #FordPowerPromise here:
More people are getting killed by drivers than any time since 1980, if anything we should be lowering speed limits (and actually enforcing traffic laws)
@rohanspatel@danahull@farzyness@wholemars CARB’s forthcoming requirement of 50 miles min EV range for PHEVs to get credit also means we’re not talking about bare minimum PHEVs anymore, but cars that electrify the vast majority of annual miles and more likely to be tried by folks who won’t jump to full BEV at first.
An electric VW bus has been Lucy’s football since the first concept in 2011. I’ve never seen an EV so begrudgingly brought to market, and I’ve seen…a lot.
