We're the people with disability, families and supporters who campaigned for the NDIS. Now we're fighting for the #NDIS to deliver as promised. #DefendOurNDIS
A waiting list isn’t a replacement.
A service you can’t access isn’t a replacement.
A service that doesn’t exist locally isn’t a replacement.
Build it before you remove it.

“Now the responsibility is once again on me to understand what happened and fight the decision.”
After asking the NDIS for more support, an autistic person’s funding was cut.
The process should not be a barrier.

There is a lot of NDIS change happening at once. For people whose lives depend on disability support, that uncertainty can take a toll.

Promises need to be tested against what happens in practice.
Are decisions clearer? Are safeguards working? Are alternatives available? Are people with disability being heard?

We think people need to be reminded that the NDIS is also about what becomes possible when people with disability have the support they need.
Independence. Connection. Work. Community. Choice and control.
📣 What has the NDIS done for you?

No NDIS cuts should leave a person unsafe or without the support they need.
We need real safeguards, exemptions when broad rules cause harm, continuity of essential support and meaningful review.
Protect people. Fix what causes harm.

Community participation isn’t an optional extra.
It can mean friendship, independence, work, volunteering, learning and belonging.
Has an NDIS change affected your ability to participate?

Thriving Kids is beginning to roll out.
But are the supports actually there?
Where? Who can access them? What are the wait times? What happens when the alternative isn’t available?
Build it before you remove it.

A smaller NDIS plan doesn’t make someone’s disability or support needs disappear.
So where does the cost go?
To families? Participants? Hospitals? Other services?
What was cut? What happened? Who picked up the cost?

“Being deaf and blind, I need help to engage in community.”
Cuts to support can leave people isolated at home and seriously affect their mental health. Community participation is not optional.

The NDIS is worth protecting because of what it makes possible.

NDIS fraud should be investigated. Wrongdoing should be stopped. Public money should be recovered. But people with disability should not pay the price for provider wrongdoing. Fix the problem. Don’t cut the person.
Are participants being unfairly caught up in the fraud debate?
Australia has choices.
So when we're told the NDIS costs too much, ask:
Why are people with disability being asked to carry the burden?
We can afford a strong, sustainable NDIS. The question is whether Government chooses to protect it.

A budget on paper doesn’t get someone out their front door.
If NDIS funding is too low to arrange a viable support worker shift, people could be left with funding they can’t use – and fewer opportunities to take part in community life.

A 50% cut to Social and Community Participation could leave some NDIS participants with funding below the minimum support worker shift.
Funding on paper means little if you can’t actually use it.

🏠 SIL changes aren’t just about services. It's about home.
Who supports us. Who we live with. Whether we can change providers without risking your home.
More accountability for governments and providers. More choice for participants.
