@Andymack When I want to play a record I usually think “I want to play some soul” or whatever. I never say “I’d like to play something beginning with k”.
So genres make more sense to me. True, genres can be blurry, but it’s your collection and you’ll know what genre you think it is

@WeBuyRecordsPod Ten plus years ago I bought AC/DC’s Live at the Atlantic Recording Studios for £15 from a stall in Spitalfields market and for about an hour or so convinced myself it was the real thing. Hadn’t realised it was quite a common counterfeit. Originals only issued to radio &are £100+

@ryeandwry Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, requires DVD with surround sound speakers to get the benefit. KEF in London have an exhibition you can go to for two weeks from Friday where you can hear the album in surround sound on their system.

Had this DVD insert for ten years. Came with the 40th anniversary LP re-release. Playing the 5.1 version for the first time tonight. Interesting to hear in 5.1.
Anyone here a big fan of 5.1?
I may pop down to @KEFAudio exhibition to hear on a proper system

@ryeandwry @KEFAudio I found it okay, but not sufficiently exciting to want to rip up my hifi and start again. That may just be because I am playing it through a twenty year old DVD player and very average (and small) DVD “home cinema” speakers
