Writing out this message may very well be the most difficult thing we had to do in the last 3 years of our journey. After Season I & II and the thousands of new players we were able to onboard into Evrloot, our roadmap is filled with features and releases we were excited to bring to you.

- A mobile Evrloot companion App
- Our very own PvP battling arena with a huge wagering and tournament system
- An item upgrading system that would allow you to disenchant OG items or upgrade them with more stat points
- A web of ai agents that would be living within Trakan and have certain global objectives that all players would have to work together for to achieve
- An Evrloot Token that would tie alot of loose ends together and be the only currency you ever need in Trakan and massively improve onboarding barriers
- Impressive performance improvements, including our own benchmark testing system that would support the simulation of 100s of thousands of players
- etc.

Some of these are fully sketched out and implementation ready, others are already implemented and close to beta testing.

Sadly the reality is, that none of these features will make it out to you for now.

Our push for reaching more players has objectively been really successful, we were dominating the tx charts of Moonbeam and Polkadot throughout our seasons and our Discord was overflowing with new people being genuinely interested in the game.

Like most startups, our next push to our goal of self sustainability would have been monetization.

We knew this was coming up months ago already, so everything we have been releasing had an Evrloot Token at its core that would have allowed us to have an endless list of utility and actual use cases for the token at launch. With the obvious goal of capturing as much value of Evrloot in this Token as possible.

Being an enduser faced application on Polkadot hasn’t necessarily been easy. While we were able to get a certain amount of financial and marketing support, we always had to fight extremely hard for it, going above and beyond to prove we are worth it.

When we heard about the launch of Polkadot Hub last year, we were extremely excited and finally knew how we could bring our Token to market without an absurdly high marketing budget. By utilizing the whole ecosystem's support for a unified EVM chain on Polkadot, we wanted to use this momentum, be the first Token to launch on that chain and be fully integrated within our game right from the beginning.

Jumping ecosystems was never an option to us. Our roots in Polkadot are deep and we have a strong belief in the underlying tech and the core people. When talking to many of the leading “Gaming Chains” at conferences, it also became quite clear, that basically nobody has been successful in fostering a gaming community that would warrant us moving.

Being realistic about the launch date, we were already calculating with multiple months of buffer time. It turned out even that wasn’t enough, though. By having the launch date shift further and further back, we knew we were running out of runway.

Launching a token into a void is not an option for us. We have been preaching about our ethics for years and have always tried incredibly hard to be as fair and thoughtful as possible. A launch of the Evrloot Token on Moonbeam/Polkadot now, without the proper means for marketing and publicity, will almost certainly lead to disappointment for everyone involved.

The biggest assets of Evrloot are our community, the team and our track record of showing we can deliver and work towards a greater vision. With this realization, we believe that freezing Evrloot now and hoping for a bigger shift in narrative and generally better market conditions, is the only reasonable way for a successful outcome.

We can’t emphasize enough what an insane journey it has been up to this point. From doodling swords on pieces of paper in the Evrloot HQ and launching the first RMRK 2.0 Book of Lore collection, to having an actual game up and running. With an active marketplace, people logging in everyday and enjoying themselves. Meeting you guys in person at one of the many conferences we attended was always a pleasure and made us so much more driven to be the one Web3 game that actually makes it without compromising on their core values.

So what does this mean for now?

- salaries of founders reduced to 0
- letting go of the german full time employee and working students
- pausing contracts with freelancers
- reducing fixed cost as much as possible

We are still committed to continuing Evrloot. We see this more as a strategic pause than an end. We have shown over many years of development, how much grit we have and how much we care. We are forever grateful for the support we have received from you guys and hope to come back stronger than ever before.
