UPDATE :
Over the past few months, we ran a closed alpha with a small group of players. On paper, things worked. The core loop is there. But the main feedback was clear: after a few seasons, the experience starts to feel repetitive. And for a management game, that’s a major problem.
Some of you compared it to Football Manager, where players often restart new careers to keep things fresh. The difference is that building that kind of depth and flexibility requires solid systems and infrastructure. As a solo developer, it’s not something I can rush without compromising quality.
And that’s really the core of this update: I don’t want to rush this game.
Legends Manager is planned as a long-term project. Something that evolves over years, shaped with the community. And if I want to do that properly, I need to start with strong foundations, both technically and financially.
Right now, this project doesn’t pay my bills. At the same time, I’ve always been very clear about one thing: I want to build a real team around this game in the future, talented people, properly paid. Even if a lot of people offered to help for free (and I’m genuinely grateful), I strongly believe that long-term projects need stability and fair compensation to truly succeed.
That’s also why I didn’t go for pre-sales. It would add pressure, expectations, and timelines that I’m not ready to commit to yet. If people pay, it should be for something precise, solid, and worth it, not a promise.
On top of that, I’ve had some personal constraints recently that slowed things down, including travel limitations (Iran-Trump) and external factors I couldn’t control. At the same time, I’m currently closing a fundraise for my main company (early April), which requires my full focus right now.
But make no mistake, Legends Manager is my passion project. I think about it constantly. I read your messages, I visualize where it can go, and I know there’s real hype and expectation around it. That’s exactly why I want to take the time to do it right.
I’d rather release a 9/10 game with huge potential than something rushed where I end up thinking “we should have pushed further.”
So here’s what’s next:
– Extending the current testing phase
– Expanding the number of testers (roughly doubling it)
– Bringing in LoL creators and competitive scene experts into testing to get sharper feedback on realism and data accuracy
– Moving into what I call “Alpha 2” (invitations will be sent early–mid April, right after the fundraise)
The focus of this phase is simple: refine, balance, deepen, and push the game as far as possible before opening it up wider.
The beta will come after that, and it will be more accessible (with purchasable access), while still being a phase where we fix and improve a lot.
One more thing, I’m considering bringing back dev streams. Showing the game as it is, work in progress, like in the early days. If that’s something you want, let me know. I just ask for the same mindset as before: collaboration over judgment.
I have less time than I used to, but I’ll try to make it work if there’s real interest, because I think it can help everyone understand where the game is heading.
Thanks again for the patience and the support. This project means a lot to me, and I want to make sure it delivers.
