Seriously, my favorite pose atm! It stresses the tissue of the low back in such a unique & delicious way! La-la-la-LOVE this pose! Give it a whirl!
Some Variations: Fold inside or directly over the ext. leg; support w/bolster; 1/2 Frog leg instead of 1/2 Butterfly.
Lizard
Oldie but goody! Great for stressing the groin (adductor) tissue, connected to the Wood element, which is responsible for flexibility of body & mind. When this element is balanced, we take things in stride as we are physically & mentally adapt to the many changes we face.
We so often let our fears of ridicule, embarrassment & failure hold us back from pursuing our dreams. This chatter in the mind can be so devastating to our becoming. The voices won't go away, but as you keep walking your path, they will have less & less power of over you!
Tight hip flexors are a direct result of our sitting culture. As pictured, when the iliopsoas muscles become tight, they can pull on the low back causing pain. Self-MFR techniques, such as those pictured, can be a great way to release this tension! MFR Yoga, Sunday 12/17 @ 2:00!
Finding Balance
We are always drawn to being out of balance. If we are more naturally yang or yin those are the activities we are attracted toward, but we need to intentionally do the things that invite more balance into our lives. Try something new today!

Lateral Shoelace
A great pose to stress the lateral line of the body, energetically connected to the overall health of the sinews (fascial tissue). Variations: support head in hand, lift opp. hand overhead, untie your shoelace (legs).

Recently I was reminded of the importance of vulnerability in both myself and others. When we allow ourselves to be raw with one another, the possibilities are infinite. Today I bow to those who risk being exposed in the name of love and transformation. #thisisyoga
