Samay is genius.
Latent Season 2 did 32 million views on YouTube in 24 hours. 5 million in the first two hours.
> The Netflix deal is reportedly worth 15 to 20 crore. That's the headline number but the real economics are layered underneath.
> YouTube AdSense on Indian CPMs of $1 to $1.5 per thousand views across 68 million monthly views puts his annual ad revenue somewhere around 8 to 12 crore. > Channel memberships during Season 1 peak were pulling 1.5 crore per month independently.
> His rate card right now is 70 to 80 lakh per branded reel, 25 to 35 lakh per static post, 20 lakh per story.
> A single in-show brand integration during Season 1 went for 40 lakh. Season 2 episode one had four visible sponsors.
So a rough annual stack looks something like this. YouTube AdSense at 8 to 12 crore. Netflix deal at 15 to 20 crore across the season. Brand integrations across episodes, reels and posts comfortably another 10 to 15 crore if he does even 20 branded deliverables in a year at current rates. Memberships and live shows adding another 5 to 8 crore conservatively. That puts total annual earnings somewhere in the 40 to 55 crore range.
Not the 200 crore numbers floating around on X but still genuinely absurd for an individual creator operating without a production house or talent agency taking a cut.
Still Alive at 53.4 million views was not monetized as a revenue play. Free on YouTube, no brand integrations.
It was sequenced deliberately before Season 2 to rebuild distribution and trust after 18 months of silence. The Netflix deal that followed was the monetization event. The special was the funnel.
Eighteen months ago he had FIRs against him and his show pulled from the internet. Today he's charging more per Instagram story than most D2C brands spend on a full campaign shoot.
If I could tell my 22-year-old self one thing about sales: Stop trying to convince people who can't afford it. A broke person who says yes is worse than a rich person who says no.
If you want to get money, go where the money is.
