@PhilR2023 @jameswharton@VeteransGovUK@JohnnyMercerUK@ForcesNews@ThisIsBFBS Hi Phil, the suggested National resource by OVA was OpFortitude so that was the route we followed. We have suggested Veterans Aid to a number of veterans in the past however in this particular case it was complicated we looked at a number of options that would have been suitable.
To date we at ExFor+ CIC have often worked in the backgrounds of veterans support. Our provision is one that believes in face to face communication and understanding. Over the years we have supported many veterans and vulnerable individuals. A number of whom have been inโฆ
and work with those who need help to get to a point and position where they have self belief to achieve the outcomes that they seek. We do it for the positive change, not the recognition or for funding, we do it because we understand the difficulties that many endureโฆ
@a_ottaway @richywalsh20@VeteransGovUK@DefenceHQ Along with charities and the third sector. The OVA could be the point of contact with government but at present the government are wanting to deliver re services through statutory provisions which often end with conflict of legislation and constitutions.
@a_ottaway @richywalsh20@VeteransGovUK@DefenceHQ Weโve tried for years to create a single point of view, we have always been very open. Every veteran welcome and every veteranโs point and opinion appreciated. Yes we support veterans but we were designed as an overarching SPV/E for the veteran community and government to support
@kittags @UKAUSVeteran We offered a cryptographically secure self managed system to cabinet office, they wanted GDS to develop the system at significant cost via a contract.
@a_ottaway @DefenceHQ@VeteransGovUK@JohnnyMercerUK@cabinetofficeuk National charities to approach them with the overview we provided. They didnโt want it for fear of upsetting the charity space.
@a_ottaway @DefenceHQ@VeteransGovUK@JohnnyMercerUK@cabinetofficeuk The concerning part at times is that we have provided direction in the past and it is just run with internally. ID cards came about after suggested to former CDP and an individual who mentioned ID to Johnny, ours was a cryptographically secure ID data management system.
@a_ottaway @DefenceHQ@VeteransGovUK@JohnnyMercerUK@cabinetofficeuk Where the data was managed only by the veteran. We suggested a number of other directions as well that lead to NHS implanting MH services now OpCourage, what we offered was an all in one support service also but was advised by former director of OVA that they wanted one of the
@a_ottaway @DefenceHQ@VeteransGovUK@JohnnyMercerUK@cabinetofficeuk Unfortunately Johnny will not meet with us, we have met with him before and that is how the OVA practically came about, we have met members of the cabinet office and had zoom meetings with individuals that advise Johnny. We had support of many MPโs and lords and ladyโs.
