in the #Veteran space those implementing Armed Forces Covenant initiatives often don’t fully understand the veterans charity sector.
Without that insight, decisions are made that miss the mark—leading to flawed conclusions about how veterans actually access and receive support
ExFor+ CIC has been delivering forward-thinking, real-world veteran support for years—long before it became a policy priority.
While initiatives like Op VALOUR are a step in the right direction, they still don’t fully address the gaps or the real needs of the veteran community
One of my biggest frustrations in the #Veteran space is hearing: “we’re doing this because the Armed Forces Covenant says veterans shouldn’t be disadvantaged.” It often feels like ticking a policy box rather than a genuine desire to help.
@SeanyBoyy89 If this is your petition, I have spent many years trying to give guidance to Government on how veterans are best supported. Johnny spoke with me back in 2015 and pushed for an OVA. The OVA was a misuse of the directions I believe I provided and was poorly implemented.
@currys#Poole just been to the store and spoke with the general manager, unwilling to show me their policy in relation to assistance dogs. Advised me that a Dog barking can trigger #PTSD for some of their customers. It’s be good to see the policy and its wording which was denied
@SkyNews this happens to too many women, my wife was not listened to and we had an horrific experience, at the most vulnerable time for a woman and a father not knowing what’s going to happen you expect the care providers to listen, do their job. https://t.co/6iWEZGVFRW
@LBC@NickFerrariLBC I have for many years advocated for significant change in the veterans space, the government do not have a clue how to do it, other than to take others ideas and directions. Implement them poorly and say look at what we do. The charities are often even worse.
@geordie_proud I find this very interesting, I once approached the cabinet office for the development of a digital veterans ID card that I had developed, they said I had to be a contractor or work with GDS. one thing I was looking at was decentralised data confirmation rather than centralised.
I’ve recently been made aware of this important survey in relation to lariam and mefloquine by @Dave1RO if you’ve served and taken the medication mentioned please do help those trying to get an understanding of the scale by completing this short survey. https://t.co/UChr2JmToy
@AlistairCarns Digital veterans ID card is something I spoke with the cabinet office about in 2018/19 Mercer chose to ignore it and my offer of the technology so it could be free to veterans was ignored. Happy to discuss.
Absolutely ashamed to be a veteran in the uk .
MPs come out twice a year - armed forces week and Remembrance Day .
Thousands of veterans still on the streets and numbers rising .
This guy has been failed .

@niveteran@TomWRoss@VeteransGovUK@greatermcr Strange this is, I put the plan to an Armed Forces Minister back in 2013/14 and was told it was a good direction to pursue then JM had all his OP’s ideas taken from others and now looking at coordination again but this will fail as using hubs.
@AlistairCarns I’ve been working on the coordination of the sector for 13 years and what is being suggested is in my opinion just duplication of the work carried out over the time. I know the reasons why valour will struggle and how to implement the changes needed for it to succeed.
@AlistairCarns All this “Valour” is not going to work, coordination has been attempted and it fails because of the basic fundamentals of the organisation’s that are trying to support veterans. If you’d like to chat to discuss feel free to message me.
https://t.co/AtJdalPUSr I have said this in the veterans space and on the national domestic space also, why does it take a Hollywood actress to highlight this? @SkyNews
