@NickHannula It's because when a once-serious party stops winning elections, it gets consumed by lunacy owing to its total marginality and lack of responsibility.
If you are called on to recite a poem at a formal state event, your composition should rhyme, or at least have some kind of rhythm to it. Otherwise it's just a pretentious, melodramatic speech.
I think the Pratt thing is a bad sign for the GOP.
They ran a reality TV ex-celebrity who ran on a platform of "homeless people rape dogs" and he lost. They're convinced he should have won. They're moving past the point where they learn rational lessons from election defeat.

1) They can't lend a lot of new scholarly books because universities aren't purchasing loanable printed copies
2) Libraries can't subscribe to every paywalled website and substack out there
