Brothers Joseph and Robert Casson, from Whitehaven, died 3 weeks apart during the Battle of Normandy and are buried side by side. Joseph was killed on this day while serving with the Durham Light Infantry, aged 18. Royal Marine Robert was killed on D-Day.
