This Antarctic season is coming to an end, and for Puerto Williams it was very succesful.

By October the new Hotel "The Cormorant at 55 South" is going to revolutionize Antarctic voyages, transforming the airport in an Antarctic gateway for sustainable tourism.

One of the issues that generated the most concern during the construction of "The Cormorant Hotel at 55 South" was its environmental impact.

Now, the flora is being restored, using seeds and plants that were previously collected and propagated in nurseries in Valdivia and Guadal

Improving the quality of life before winter and snowfall is very important.

The new 150 room Hotel "The Cormorant at 55 South" in Puerto Williams is almost ready.

Officiallly it will open in October with direct flights from Santiago.

It will treasure the Yahgan heritage of the Cape Horn in a modern way, so that the tourist can learn about this culture.

Between July 1865 and June 1867, Bishop Waite H. Stirling took four Yahgan boys to the United Kingdom.

One of them was Threeboys, Jemmy Button's son.

In England and Ireland they sold Yahgan scale canoes, made by local carftmen, in order to raise money for the Mission.

During the last Antarctic season, two Embraer E190 airplanes served the route Santiago- Puerto Williams.

The flights to Antarctica are flown by the penguin fleet of BAE 146/RJ-100.

Skiing in Puerto Williams with a wonderful view to the Aunashaka (Beagle channel).

The southernmost ski facilities will open very soon, in order to enjoy outdoor sports in pristine and wild environments.

Y falta el camino entre Caleta Eugenis y Pto Toro.

Currently, a development plan for Navarino Island is being developed.

It's important to preserve the Yaghan archaeological sites while also being able to showcase their wonders to tourists.

The most important project is the road to Puerto Toro.
