3. Multi-Stream to Multiple Platforms

Once you’ve connected Restream, you’ll notice a few additional docks appear inside OBS. Look for the Restream Channels dock, it should look something like this (see ss below).

From here, you can connect all of your social media destinations and choose which platforms you want to go live on, by simply toggling the sliders.

Do note that in order to stream on X, you will require X premium to do so. (Otherwise the stream will fail to broadcast when you go live.)

If you click Edit on any destination, you can also customize that platform’s individual settings, including the stream title, category, and orientation (Landscape vs Vertical).

If you look closely at my ss, you’ll notice that my TT and YT destinations are set to Vertical, while the rest remain in Landscape.

The reason I do this is pretty straightforward: improved discoverability.

Landscape streams usually require viewers to actively click into the stream from a thumbnail before watching. Vertical streams on the other hand, have the advantage of being surfaced directly to users doom scrolling through shorts.

That said, this ultimately comes down to personal preference.

For example, if you prefer streaming to YT in Landscape so your VODs are automatically saved in Landscape format, that’s completely valid too.

The added discoverability of vertical streaming shouldn’t stop you from using the format that best fits your content and workflow.
