@DrDomCooper@SHPOnline@CIPD@IOSH_tweets There’s an overlap between occupational health and safety and HR... pragmatically I can see the case for addressing stress, etc in health & safety remit, but Org Design and HR are best to address at root!
@DrDomCooper@SHPOnline It’s all important, but managing stress/ pressure will deliver more immediate cost benefit rather than ‘insurance’ of ‘normal’ health and safety focus...
@DrDomCooper@SHPOnline But the issue with stress is that it’s commonplace and costly - and much more costly year on year than workplace injuries. So the focus is one of cost impact rather than individual impact.
@DrDomCooper@SHPOnline Oh, now this interesting... I think the issues are being conflated deliberately. Process failures have massive impact yet low likelihood. Serious workplace injuries are medium likelihood and devastating individual cost. Organisations are feeling impact
@IOSH_conference Not likely... more likely UK will lose influence as the de facto EU standard... that will create issues with developing world standards and influence.
Grateful to @IOSH_conference for opportunity to advocate for normalising mental ill health and will do same at Construction Industry summit today @CNsummit @themindsatwork
