Cistercian abbey located in Llantysilio, north Wales. More formally the Abbey Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Valle Crucis it is known in Welsh both as Abaty Glyn Egwestl and Abaty Glyn y Groes. The abbey was built in 1201.

Founded in 1156, Jervaulx Abbey in North Yorkshire was a Cistercian abbey that spawned from the nearby abbey at Byland. The Cistercian Order of the early 12th century was based on the austerity taught by St Benedict, and Cistercian monks often established monasteries in far-flung areas where they could dedicate their lives to prayer and meditation in peace.

| St Giles' Parish Church 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿|

The church is one of the finest examples of ecclesiastical architecture to be found in Wales.  There is documentary evidence of a church here as early as the 11th century, though the building in its present form dates mainly from the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th centuries.  The tower, 135 feet high, was complete in 1506.   The church is dedicated to St. Giles, although it may have been dedicated formerly to the Celtic Saint Silin or Silyn.

Building at Chepstow Castle started in 1067 by Earl William fitz Osbern, close friend of William the Conqueror, making it one of the first Norman strongholds in Wales. In turn William Marshal (Earl of Pembroke), Roger Bigod (Earl of Norfolk) and Charles Somerset (Earl of Worcester) all made their mark before the castle declined after the Civil War.

Originally called the Pen Y Bryn Brewery, it opened in 1840 and operated under various guises until the 1870s when it became the Tanqueray Brewery. It remained as a major brewery in the town until the 1930s when it closed and has been abandoned ever since.

The notes, written on the bricks under the bridge close to Berwyn Station in Llangollen, were discovered in 2007 and are thought to have been written by soldiers as they waited to be taken to Flanders

One soldier, Alfred James Candy, wrote of the hope of seeing his unborn baby upon his return. But a checking of Llangollen's War Memorial would show that he never got the chance, as he was killed in action during World War One.

Gwrych Castle is a Grade I listed country house in North Wales, one of the first attempts at replicating true medieval architecture in Europe. It stands in 250 acres of gardens and grounds and has extensive views over former parkland including a deer park and the Irish Sea.

Gwrych Castle was built between 1812 and 1822 by Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh as a memorial to his mother’s ancestors, the Lloyds of Gwrych. Upon the site was an Elizabethan house named ‘Y Fron (rounded hill) which by 1810 had fallen into dereliction. When Lloyd married Lady Emily Esther Ann Lygon, daughter of the 1st Earl of Beauchamp in 1825, the main building was complete.

In 1979, THE DUKE OF LANCASTER was privately owned and beached at Llanerch-y-Mor in North Wales. The intention was to turn the vessel into a floating leisure and retail complex. This was short lived and the vessel remains at the same berth pending funding to this day,
